How easy is to use an Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer?

The Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer series are known for their ease of set up and for providing an inexpensive, easy to use way to shoot professional looking videos with just your smartphone. You know the problem we all have with phone videos: they are jittery, lose focus of the subject, etc. Capturing steady always-on-point videos by holding a phone in your hand is not easy. Mount the phone in an Osmo and suddenly a whole world of videography opens up. The gimble and software can keep the subject in the center of the field of view no matter if your hand is shaking or bouncing around. Imagine you are filming a lightning storm from a moving car on a bumpy road; with your smartphone in an Osmo Mobile the image is perfectly stable. It really does all the work; you just hold it in your hand and decide what to shoot.

I am writing this article before the Osmo Mobile 4 launches, so I don’t know what incredible features it will have. I did send one to reviewers for an in-depth article about it; but, the reviews aren’t ready yet (I’ll add a link here as soon as the review goes live). You, however, are reading this contest article just after the launch. So, the first thing you need to do is to go to the product page that also just went live and read about the features of the new Osmo Mobile 4, then come back here and enter the contest.

One feature on the Osmo Mobile 4 that I would very much like to try is DynamicZoom, which, according to the features article, “allows cinema-grade zooms.” That sounds quite revolutionary, which I really like. Another feature that I would just love to test out for myself is DJI ActiveTrack 3.0 technology, which “helps keep specific subjects centred and in focus while they’re in motion,” as mentioned in the features article. This feature looks rather innovative. Sounds fantastic!

  26. Gesture controls that allow you to take a photo or start recording video with a simple movement of the hand sure is amazing. The Quick Roll permitting transition from landscape to portrait mode, and vice versa, in an instant would definitely be helpful. Absolutely would love to try these two features and more.     2. Lasting up to 15 hours on a single charge is very convenient, so that you don’t have to worry about frequent recharging

  33. I have very shaky hands whenever I try filming something, the ActiveTrack 3.0 technology sounds like the perfect solution to my problems. Another thing that I would love to try is to use the DJI Mimo app to create videos

    1-DynamicZoom allows cinema-grade zooms such as the dolly zoom effect

    2-Gesture controls let you use a range of simple gestures to take a photo, start recording, and more!

  37. I would love to try out all of the features in this amazing DJI Osmo Mobile 4!
    I am impressed by the simplicity and ease of attachment with the magnetic quick mount, as well as the amazing 15 hour battery life.
    I’d like to start by trying out the DJI ActiveTrack 3.0 technology to test the limits of actively tracking local wildlife in motion, like hummingbirds up close and geese flying past overhead as they prepare to fly south for winter.
    The CloneMe Pano is another interesting feature that just begs to be experimented with.
    Finally, the DJI Mimo app is an absolute must to review thoroughly. It just adds so many new and interesting features to DJI Osmo Mobile 4, such as “Story Mode features preset camera movements, filters, and soundtracks so you can create your own movies and stories”.
    There is just so much to like about DJI Osmo Mobile 4 along with the DJI Mimo app!

  44. features on the Osmo Mobile 4 that for me I really need: 1 the Magnetic quick mount because sometimes I’m all thumbs 2 15 hours on a single charge because I like to take photos and videos outside away from the hustle and bustle 3 Active Track and stability cause I’m not as steady as I used to be. And lastly I don’t have a Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer and this is the icing on the cake in terms of brand name !
