If you’re like me and love the outdoors and love technology then the Sizzle lighter is perfect for you. I flipped when these first arrived at my desk to send for a review and to run a contest. The reviews are done and now you have a chance to win one of these amazing lighters. Learn why I love these and why you might too, then follow the instructions to enter for a chance to win one.

Sizzle lighters: make fire anytime without fuel or fuss

A Sizzle arc lighter is aptly named: press the button and it does just that … sizzles. That sizzle is a very hot plasma generated by electricity. You only need to charge it with the included USB cable and it will light your fire for weeks. But don’t touch that sizzling arc; it’s very hot. And it lights with the push of a button no matter where you are.

That’s what makes these lighters so coveted by outdoor enthusiasts. Get it wet—it works. Even in intense winds, it works. Take it on your multi-day hiking adventure and know you will be able to light a fire when you need to. No more striking matches one after another to no avail. No more flicking that bic lighter until your finger blisters. One simple push and you have fire.

Do you know which Sizzle is best for your needs

We sent a selection of these lighters to our trusted writers to get their honest opinion. Read their reviews to learn more about how they work, and about the different types of Sizzle lighters available. Some of them are very great for barbecues. I think the long extension lighter is perfect for burn barrels or burn piles like on a farm or large property. The survival sizzles with built in flashlight is perfect for camping and hiking.

We are giving away the complete range of these. Which one is your perfect fire starter?

How to enter

Entering this contest will be fun and you can enter in three different ways:

  1. In a comment below: tell us why you think a Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior to the method you usually use for lighting a fire.
  2. In a comment below Andy’s review article, tell us which style of Sizzle is perfect for you (you can choose more than one!) and why.
  3. Social post: For two additional entries, create a public post on a social media channel sharing with your friends and followers that you are entering a Best Buy blog contest to win a plasma arc lighter. Let your friends know which lighter you are hoping to win and include the hashtag #SizzleBestBuyContest, so we can find your post, and include a picture from this contest page. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that we can check and verify your entry. You can use any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Thread, LinkedIn, etc.), but the post must be public so we can verify it is there.

What you can win

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select seven winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will be randomly assigned to one of seven different Sizzle lighters as shown at the top of this contest article.

This contest runs from Aug 2nd to Aug 17th.

Remember you can enter up to four times as mentioned above. Fire is dangerous and must be used responsibly, especially outdoors. It’s also necessary in many situations, like when cooking outdoors, and it can be dangerous to be without it sometimes too. Sizzle plasma arc lighters may save the day. Or it may just be how your warm your home if, like me, you use only a wood stove for heat in the winter!

  1. The fact that its rechargable is definetly the winner for me. No more buying fresh boxes of matches!

  2. I currently use zip cubes to light the campfire. A zip lighter, especially the Extender would allow me to get the arc to the various locations of tinder in the fire to get it started.

  3. A group of us when camping and one of the guys we bumped into had one of these. These are amazing especially for out door uses !

  4. Rechargeable and work in almost any condition is a game changer. Far better than throwing away plastic lighters and trying to get them to work in the wind.

  5. I’ve been stuck so many time in the woods while hunting in the rain with wet lighters/matches and no light. This would be great to always be able to light a fire.

  6. As technology continues to advance, we can expect further improvements in electronic lighters, providing even greater convenience and safety for users.

  8. It sounds like it is fun to use. I like that is works in the wind and when it is wet which beats the lighter I use.

  9. Let’s compare methods of lighting objects:
    – I strike a match
    – I flick a Bic
    – I wield a Sizzle plasma arc lighter

I think that we can all agree that the last choice sounds way cooler. Sign me up!

  10. They are superior because there is no need for flammable fuel and it light when you need it . A Rainy stormy day stuck in the bush on a camping trip you definitely need something like this that will start a fire.

  11. long extension lighter would be best for lighting our fire pit. I like the fact that they don’t use fuel one less thing to worry about failing and trying to light things with just the spark from a normal lighter is a pain and dangerous for your arm hair and eyebrows.

  12. As technology continues to advance, we can expect further improvements in electronic lighters, providing even greater convenience and safety for users worldwide, and perhaps even a longer shelf life. So, if you’re looking for a reliable, safe, and eco-friendly option, consider embracing Sizzle electronic lighters. If anything, it will ‘spark’ some great conversation this summer.

  13. With lots of camping and using a bbq, we have always thought there had to be a better way.
    Now, finally there is!
Wonderful idea, and we would use any one of them, for sure.

  14. I currently use a disposable butane lighter to light the barbecue and I sometimes have to click it numerous times to get it lit plus the flame is really low. A Sizzle plasma arc lighter would definitely be superior to this.
