If you’re like me and love the outdoors and love technology then the Sizzle lighter is perfect for you. I flipped when these first arrived at my desk to send for a review and to run a contest. The reviews are done and now you have a chance to win one of these amazing lighters. Learn why I love these and why you might too, then follow the instructions to enter for a chance to win one.

Sizzle lighters: make fire anytime without fuel or fuss

A Sizzle arc lighter is aptly named: press the button and it does just that … sizzles. That sizzle is a very hot plasma generated by electricity. You only need to charge it with the included USB cable and it will light your fire for weeks. But don’t touch that sizzling arc; it’s very hot. And it lights with the push of a button no matter where you are.

That’s what makes these lighters so coveted by outdoor enthusiasts. Get it wet—it works. Even in intense winds, it works. Take it on your multi-day hiking adventure and know you will be able to light a fire when you need to. No more striking matches one after another to no avail. No more flicking that bic lighter until your finger blisters. One simple push and you have fire.

Do you know which Sizzle is best for your needs

We sent a selection of these lighters to our trusted writers to get their honest opinion. Read their reviews to learn more about how they work, and about the different types of Sizzle lighters available. Some of them are very great for barbecues. I think the long extension lighter is perfect for burn barrels or burn piles like on a farm or large property. The survival sizzles with built in flashlight is perfect for camping and hiking.

We are giving away the complete range of these. Which one is your perfect fire starter?

How to enter

Entering this contest will be fun and you can enter in three different ways:

  1. In a comment below: tell us why you think a Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior to the method you usually use for lighting a fire.
  2. In a comment below Andy’s review article, tell us which style of Sizzle is perfect for you (you can choose more than one!) and why.
  3. Social post: For two additional entries, create a public post on a social media channel sharing with your friends and followers that you are entering a Best Buy blog contest to win a plasma arc lighter. Let your friends know which lighter you are hoping to win and include the hashtag #SizzleBestBuyContest, so we can find your post, and include a picture from this contest page. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that we can check and verify your entry. You can use any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Thread, LinkedIn, etc.), but the post must be public so we can verify it is there.

What you can win

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select seven winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will be randomly assigned to one of seven different Sizzle lighters as shown at the top of this contest article.

This contest runs from Aug 2nd to Aug 17th.

Remember you can enter up to four times as mentioned above. Fire is dangerous and must be used responsibly, especially outdoors. It’s also necessary in many situations, like when cooking outdoors, and it can be dangerous to be without it sometimes too. Sizzle plasma arc lighters may save the day. Or it may just be how your warm your home if, like me, you use only a wood stove for heat in the winter!

  1. So much better than the cheap dollar store bbq lighter. I don’t have to worry about the wind. This will work

  2. I really like this lighter because it will always be reusable because you can recharge it. I am tired of other lighters that aren’t reusable when they run out of fuel.

  3. The Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior to the method I am usually using for lighting a fire because the ones I have never work! … I hate continually shaking and clicking on them over and over again. I am looking forward to trying this.

  4. My current method is matches and the sizzle is superior because it works regardless of environmental conditions such as wetness or wind

  5. Nothing is worse than trying to light a candle or start a fire when it’s windy or rainy! This would help so much!

  6. our backyard feels like a wind tunnel sometimes when trying to light the firepit. Being wind resistant is the most amazing feature!

  7. I think a Sizzle plasma art lighter is superior to my method because it still works in the wet.

  8. our backyard feels like a wind tunnel sometimes when trying to light the firepit. Being wind resistant is the most amazing feature!

  9. The Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior in two ways comparing it to any strike-able matches, waterproofed or not. Firstly, fumbling to find the matches in your kit or in pockets is not a positive. Secondly, I’ve utilized waterproof matches and have even used them when wet and I had limited joy striking the also-wet matches striking strip. Having a dedicated plasma lighter in my kit would enhance my camping and canoe tripping experiences as the Sizzle plasma arc lighter is handier and even superior in many ways.

  10. Being wind resistant and working while wet is a definite advantage over just using a plain Bic lighter or matches to light a fire.

  11. The Sizzle plasma arc lighter is superior is certainly better than a match thrown in the BBQ? Smile

  12. It’s the winds which make it hard to light a campfire. These sound like they’ll work regardless of the weather.

  13. Sizzle plasma arc lighter is afe and stylish, it would definately beat out my anchient matchbook

  14. We could use the sleek or the extender for lighting our fire pit in the summer and our woodstove in the winter. They sound amazing.
