Using it all year-’round, the PuriCare AeroTower can provide clean air through its 360° motion. But with three airflow modes, Heating Mode, Fan Mode, and Diffusion Mode, it can provide additional seasonal benefits. Use Heating Mode, for example, on an especially cold winter day to get a blast of warm air that flows at up to 30°C, which LG says can help increase the temperature in the room by as much as 5°C in just 10 minutes. When it’s hot outside in the summer, use Fan Mode to get a refreshing breeze of cool air, choosing from 10 levels of airflow intensity.
For all year use, meanwhile, put it in Diffusion Mode so it will work to clean the air inside, filtering air up and out through the Air Guard diffuser, which LG says provides wider and more powerful air circulation. The multi-stage True HEPA filters capture 99.97 percent of particulates as small as 0.3 microns in size. Meanwhile, LG UVnano technology uses ultraviolet-C light to reduce the presence of bacteria that can collect on the fan as it runs.
What further sets this model apart is LG’s Air Valley technology, which creates a canyon of air to follow a surface. This is also known as the Coanda effect, and the idea is to provide a consistent and comfortable flow of breeze that you can feel all throughout the room.
Keep track of everything on the purifier’s LCD or by connecting it to the LG ThinQ app, which is available for both Android and iOS devices. You can also use the app to monitor the machine in real-time, and even adjust settings from anywhere.
While volume will inevitably increase if you put the fan in higher modes, the 23dB wind noise level means it’s fairly quiet, so you could watch TV or work in your home office while it’s running and not get distracted. The quiet operation is, in part, thanks to the tapered, vertical vanes.
The design of the PuriCare AeroTower, while having a functional purpose, also lends itself to a sophisticated, gorgeous look. The tall, cylindrical aesthetic is both modern and takes up less space in your room. It will also come in beige or silver to match your décor or colour scheme.
