Review: BenQ 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projector

0
When it comes to projectors, I’m what you would call a rookie. I like to think of myself as tech-savvy, but anytime I’m in a meeting where a projector needs to be set up for a presentation, I defer to my colleagues. When I’m at my parent’s house and my nieces and nephews ask me to put a movie on in Grandpa’s theatre room, I defer to Grandpa. So when I was asked to review the BenQ 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projector (HT1075), I was a little nervous. However, as it turns out, BenQ’s claim that with this projector, “home entertainment is only a push of a button away!” is pretty spot-on.

Review: Samsung Galaxy Note 5

2
Samsung helped start the current trend of bigger phones with bigger screens when it first unveiled the original Galaxy Note back in 2012. The screen has since grown, while the phone’s body has trimmed down, turning what was once one of the largest handsets into one that fits in with much of the pack. The Note 5 isn’t a big leap from its predecessor, but it does have some new features that make better use of its constituent parts.

Review: Carson lenses turn your smartphone into a scope or binoculars

1
It might seem a little far-fetched when thinking of a smartphone attached to an object of considerable size, like a DSLR camera lens or even a pair of binoculars. Products like that are out there, amplifying the focal length of the phone’s camera, and thereby changing the very scope (pun intended) of images it can capture. Carson doesn’t have a DSLR lens, but it does make monoculars and binoculars with adapters for the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy devices.

Review: Parrot Bebop 2 drone doesn’t stray too far

0

It’s hard not to like flying a drone, or even watching one being flown. The novelty of drones, in general, is still fresh, and as awareness grows, so do their capabilities. The Parrot Bebop 2 is one of the easiest to get acclimated with, maintaining the simple look and feel of its predecessor without changing a great deal about its performance.

Review: Sennheiser Game Zero Headset blends comfort and performance

2
When you think of video gaming, Sennheiser isn't a company that comes immediately to mind. When it comes to headphones and audio though, it should be. Sennheiser's been taking a hard look at taking over the gaming headset market, with recent entries into the market like the Game One Headset. With a very minimalistic approach geared more toward longevity, comfort and performance, the Game One is a headset you definitely shouldn't overlook.

Review: Philips 288P6 4K Monitor

0
Ultra HD (also known as 4K or UHD for some brands) monitor prices have been dropping like a stone lately—although I still can’t get my wife to buy me one—and that’s thanks to massive demand, plus 28-inch TN panels that are getting less expensive to produce. Philips’s foray into that budget-conscious market is the 288P6 Brilliance 28-inch 4K Monitor, and I got to put one through its paces to see if it makes me want that upgrade.
