Every once in awhile a major appliance company launches a new appliance you just know you have to have. Case in point? KitchenAid jumped feet first into the smart home category with its announcement of the brand new KitchenAid Smart Oven+ with Powered Attachments. It’s their first foray into smart home at CES 2019, and to see one of these ovens in action is to want to bring one home.
The KitchenAid Smart Oven+ is available in three models; single, double, and combination oven. If you’re familiar with KitchenAid major appliances, you’ll love how it uses KitchenAid’s Even-Heat True Convection design for even heat circulation and air flow. To make it user friendly, it has an LCD colour display you can use to view your options or select your method of cooking.
Just like your favourite KitchenAid Stand Mixer includes attachments you can use to mix, whip, or make dough, the KitchenAid Smart Oven+ comes with three dishwasher safe Powered attachments you can use to grill, bake, and steam.
Powered attachments for KitchenAid Smart Oven+
There will be no limits to what you can BBQ when you use the Powered Grill Attachment. You get great grilled taste for meat, vegetables ,and seafood, all without the grease fires and excess smoke.
The Powered Steamer attachment steams your vegetables and fish, and it’s large enough to make a full meal for a family.
Out of all the attachments, I’m most excited about the Powered Baking Stone. You can use a baking stone to make crispy flatbread pizza, garlic bread, seared meat, or anything else you’d like to cook. Because the baking stone is a powered attachment for the KitchenAid Smart Oven+, it heats up even faster than your standard baking stone.
Smart features on the KitchenAid Smart Oven+
It wouldn’t be a smart oven if it didn’t have Wi-Fi connectivity. Once you’ve established a network connection, the KitchenAid Smart Oven+ offers you a world of smart options.
Want help coming up with recipe ideas? The KitchenAid Smart Oven+ works with the Yummly App to find great recipes. It also works with the KitchenAid App to let you wirelessly control your oven. You’ll be able to perform different actions like extend the time something is baking, check how long you’ve got left to cook, and receive notifications and alerts from your oven.
You don’t even have to use your smartphone or the LCD screen to control your oven. If you have Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa you can use voice commands to perform functions on the KitchenAid Smart Oven+.
You can splash the KitchenAid Smart Display
KitchenAid’s debut of the KitchenAid Smart Oven+ is an amazing step into the world of smart home, but they didn’t stop there. The brand also showcased a brand new smart display at CES 2019.
If you’ve ever baked with your tablet in the kitchen and you’ve worried you were going to splash it or drop liquid on it, you’ve got to take a look at the KitchenAid Smart Display.
This innovative device is available in a 10-inch screen and it’s rated IPX-5 for water resistance. That’s on the same level as some outdoor smart cameras, so you know this display can take whatever you splash on it.
Place it in your kitchen and scroll through Yummly recipes, watch your favourite videos on Youtube, or make video calls. You’ll also be able to use it as a hub to control your smart home, so just tap to check in on your thermostat or your home’s cameras.
If you love your KitchenAid Stand Mixer and other KitchenAid small appliances, you’re definitely going to love these innovative smart devices.
