The new year is the perfect time to start a new skincare routine. If you feel like you’ve hit a wall with creams, cleansers, and masks, maybe it’s time to try something brand new to you—like a light therapy mask. Keep reading this post to find out how to enter for a chance to win a Dermabeam Pro Light Therapy Mask to use alongside your regular skincare routine.
20 minutes to light therapy
As far as alternative skin treatments go, light therapy is a really easy one to try. The only thing penetrating your skin is waves of light, making the process gentle and irritant-free. People see mixed results with light therapy, just like with any other skincare technology or treatment, but in general, it’s great for people with fragile or sensitive skin. The epidermis becomes particularly fragile after menopause, under stress, and following acne treatments, making this an excellent skincare tool for many different life stages. If your skin is too sensitive to try new treatments like chemical exfoliators or gua sha, you can try this hands-off light therapy instead.
The Dermabeam Pro, which Rae notes in their review has cute little bear ears and a rechargeable battery, works in 20 minute sessions to gradually improve your skin. It’s lightweight and comes with built-in, protective eye goggles. One great thing about the Dermabeam Pro is that the mask is easy to wipe down and sanitize, so multiple family members with different needs can use it while still keeping the mask nice and clean for the next session.
Which Dermabeam setting is right for you?
There are two light therapy wavelengths that have undergone significant clinical testing: red and blue light. The Dermabeam Pro includes both in all 115 of its medical-grade LEDs, and you can use either or both during your light therapy sessions. Users can cycle though these light settings along with five others using Dermabeam’s touch control.
Red light is the wavelength that’s been studied the most by dermatologists, researchers, and doctors. It’s been investigated for use in treating acne, increasing collagen production, healing soft tissues, encouraging hair growth, and more. Most light therapy masks available on the consumer market are red light therapy masks or, in some cases, red and blue light therapy masks—but not the Dermabeam Pro Light Therapy Mask. This model includes the popular and proven red and blue light settings, plus five others that you can choose to try either now or later, as more research continues to come out.
Those additional wavelengths include green light to reduce oily skin, pink light for anti-ageing, violet light to heal scarring, orange light to reduce redness, and white light to fade hyperpigmentation. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to choose your skincare setting from a buffet of wavelengths every day?
