Virtual reality gaming promises to be an immersive and exciting way to enjoy gaming. And with the PlayStation VR2 coupled with a PS5 console, you can expect a gaming experience unlike anything you can imagine. We asked writer and game review Matthew Rondina to review the PS VR2 and he loved how immersive and responsive the controllers were. And since this is a very new way to enjoy gaming, we also asked him to do a second article explaining some tips and tricks for setting up this device to get the most from your gaming. Learn more and enter for a chance to experience VR gaming at its best: we are giving away one PS VR2 bundle in this contest.

Play a variety of games with PS VR2

With PS VR2, you can explore a wide range of games that cater to different tastes and preferences. It’s designed to work seamlessly with the PS5, offering stunning graphics, 3D audio, and adaptive triggers. Plus, it comes with a new VR controller that has haptic feedback and finger touch detection, giving you more realistic and intuitive interactions. However, not every PS5 game will be compatible with a PS VR2. VR-compatible games are developed to take advantage of the headset’s capabilities, providing an immersive 3D experience that traditional console games do not offer. Whether you want to shoot zombies, race cars, solve puzzles, or swing like Spider-Man, there is a game for you. Some of the titles that will be compatible with PS VR2 are Resident Evil 4 VR, Gran Turismo 7, Horizon: Call of the Mountain, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. You can also enjoy some of the existing PSVR games that will be enhanced for PSVR2, such as Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Blood & Truth, and Moss.

Take VR for a test run

If you’re like me, you have a ton of questions about VR in general, and PS VR2 in particular. Where do you begin to get answers? Well if you live close to a Best Buy store, start there! This month, until Sept 24th 2023, at many participating Best Buy stores, you can register for a hands-on, 20 minute demo (Please note: time slots are filling up very quickly so register early). You can get your questions answered right there. Another way to get some of your questions answered is to ask our reviewer … in fact you can do that in the comment section below any review article on the blog to get questions answered from an expert who has used the tech! And if you enter this contest, you’ll be able to use the PS VR2 and discover the answers for yourself.

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy, and you can enter in four different ways (one entry per method only).

  1. In a comment below, tell us what game you are most excited to play with a PlayStation VR, the game you think is this year’s best, explain why you think it’s the best, and let us know if you have played it yet.
  2. In a comment beneath ourTips and Tricks” article, tell us one thing discussed in that article that you found was the most helpful for someone setting up a PS VR2 for the first time.
  3. In a comment beneath the PS VR2 in store demo article, tell us what question you would ask first if you were able to attend one of these demo sessions. Note, you do not have to register for the event. Leaving one question about the PS VR2 in the comment section for that article will qualify as one contest entry.
  4. Social post: For one additional entry, create a public post on a social media channel sharing with your friends and followers that you are entering a Best Buy blog contest to win a PS VR2 and include the hashtag #BestBuyPSVR2contest, so we can find your post. Include a picture from this contest page. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that we can check and verify your entry. You can use any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Thread, LinkedIn, etc.), but the post must be public so we can verify it is there.

What you can win

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select one winner from all eligible entries to receive a new PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain VR Bundle.

The contest runs from Sept 12th to Sept 24th.

Remember you can enter four times maximum, in four different ways—once per method (leaving four comments below this article will not count as four entries and may get you disqualified). However, tell everyone in your family, tell your friends, tell your neighbours and their neighbours too, about this contest and someone you know may win. And since you told them about the contest, I think that gives you weekly VR gaming access—don’t you?

I would try Spider-Man 2, I think Resident evil will be the years best as it’s a classic. I haven’t played either game yet

  2. The game I’m most excited to play is Resident Evil Village. I think it would be amazing on the VR. I haven’t played it yet

  3. I’m most excited to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. I think it will be 2023’s best game because of the new combat and intuitive use with VR controls. Of course, since the game is yet to be released, I have not played yet.

  4. With PlayStation VR2, I’m looking forward to playing synapse, the telekinetic game.
I think this years best game is Baldur’s Gate 3, i have not played it yet but have seen multiple great reviews and nothing but praise for this game. It can re play it multiple times and still enjoy it.

  5. Most excited for Moss. I haven’t played but I heard it’s family friendly but adventurous enough to keep everyone engaged 🙂

  6. Gran Turismo 7 is what my boys and I are most looking forward to trying! Gorgeous graphics and lots of racing options is why it is the best. We haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet.

  8. The game I am most excited to play for PSVR2 is Resident Evil 4 when it arrives in Winter.

The best game I have played this year for PSVR2 is easily Gran Turismo 7 – just an amazing experience in VR in terms of immersion.

  9. Resident Evil 4 VR for me. It plays great in non-VR mode + Capcom has done a good job with its other RE games in VR (ex: RE7).

  10. I would be most excited to play Spider-Man 2 on the Playstation VR. While its not out yet and I have not played it yet I do think it will be my game of the year because they have taken the graphics, systems and world all to the next level. It looks AMAZING!!

  11. I’m most excited to play Beat Saber, it’s always been my favourite VR game. I think the best game released so far this year is Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, for the extreme depth and creativity of it’s systems. I have not played it yet myself.

  12. I am excited to play Hercule Poirot as I am a great Agatha Christie fan. This year the best game is Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. I enjoy Avatar movies so would really like the game and would enjoy playing it but haven’t had the opportunity yet.

  13. Would be most excited to try Horizon: Call of the Mountain to see the robot dinosaurs in VR would be great. Have not tried it yet but would like to

  14. I am excited to play Gran Turismo 7 which I think is this year’s best game. I think seeing the speed of the cars and the visuals would be fantastic and my friends would also enjoy it. I haven’t played it yet but have seen the reviews and it looks great.

  15. I am very excited to try this system!
I have 4 kids and they have been talking about it and wanting one. They would be just the right age to get into this type of gaming. What game am I most excited to try, tough call but maybe the light brigade.
But really would be exciting to explore the system and all the games

  16. I’m most excited to play Gran Turismo 7, because I think racing games are best when in VR. I haven’t played GT7 at all yet; I’m waiting until I get the PSVR 2.

  17. Horizon!

It looks beautiful. I’ve only ever played VR at a gaming lab. I would also love to play Spider-Man and Batman. Taking the immersive experience to a whole new level.

  18. I really want to play Before Your Eyes. I’ve heard it’s an emotional rollercoaster and although it’s on mobile, it is a must to play on VR. I’m hoping that I get the experience the game through PsVR2

  19. I am most excited to play I Expect You To Die. I like spy action stories and this one sounds intense and why I am picking it for this year’s best game. I have not played it yet but hope too soon.

  20. Resident Evil Village. Because RE makes first person shooters and VR should make it cooler. Have not played it yet on VR.

  21. I am most excited to play Gran Turismo 7 on the Playstation VR. I think it would be incredible to actually feel like you are in the car, right in the middle of all the racing action. I have only played it briefly on the Playstation 5 standard console, but not the VR version.

  22. I am excited to play Hercule Poirot as I am a great Agatha Christie fan. This year the best game is Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. I enjoy Avatar movies so would really like the game and would enjoy playing it but haven’t had the opportunity yet.

  23. I am excited to play the light brigade. Have not played it yet but RPG are my favorite and this will be more interactive.

  24. Would be most excited to try Horizon: Call of the Mountain to see the robot dinosaurs in VR would be great. Have not tried it yet but would like to

  25. I’m really excited to play resident evil. I’ve played the 2D version and can only imagine how scary playing in 3D will be 🙂 Hopefully, I’ll be able to beat the whole game without fainting LOL

  26. I am most excited to play “Resident Evil 4 VR”, but I haven’t played it yet. This is why it’s the best!
    – Immersive Horror Experience: Virtual reality enhances the horror aspect of the game by making players feel like they are truly inside the Resident Evil universe, adding an extra layer of fear and tension.
    – Nostalgia: Resident Evil 4 is a beloved classic in the series, and the opportunity to revisit it in VR appealed to long-time fans.
    – Interactive Gameplay: VR allowed for more interactive gameplay, such as physically aiming weapons and solving puzzles, creating a more engaging experience.
