Earlier this month we gave away some of the top laptops of the year. Now we are giving away two of the top televisions. Learn about the new Samsung TVs, then enter for a chance to win.

Why you should be looking at Samsung TVs in 2023

Have you looked at the range of TVs on display at a Best Buy store these days? I have. Impressive. Almost all of them are LED TVs, though there are a range of types of LED TVs. In the store your eyes will first be drawn to the stunning Samsung Frame TVs. We gave one of these away earlier this year on the blog. Then you’ll look at some of the other types of LEDs and, if you are like most people, you’ll be confused by the terms: OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED. All three are great. All three do some things better than other things. For example, OLEDs have the best blacks thanks to individual self-lighting pixels. QLED has the best brightness (great for bright rooms) thanks to the backlighting. Neo QLEDs are the best combination thanks to their arrays of mini-LED backlighting. Samsung QLED and Neo QLEDs have other advantages too including lower costs.

Why do you want a new TV this fall

Each year, the fall season seems to usher in not just pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, but also a surge in people bringing home new TV sets. Here are the top two reasons why:

1. New models and clearance sales

Television manufacturers often release new models in the spring and summer so by fall, these new releases have had time to be reviewed so you know which ones to buy. This not only help you make more informed decisions but also puts pressure on retailers to clear out older inventory to make room for the next generation of models. So whether you are looking for the best new TVs or last year’s models at significant savings, this is the best time of year.

2. Ready for holiday entertainment and sports events

The fall season is a precursor to major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, all of which are synonymous with family gatherings and home entertainment. People anticipate needing a better or bigger TV to host movie marathons, special broadcasts, and, of course, holiday specials. Additionally, fall is a significant season for sports with the NFL, NBA, and NHL seasons bringing excitement into our homes. The lure of watching big games and key matchups on a shiny new screen can be hard to resist.

Fall is a perfect storm of incentives; it’s the season not just for falling leaves but also for finding the perfect new TV for your home on television sets. And it’s the perfect time for us to have a contest giving two of the newest and best TVs away.

  3. In a comment beneath Shelly’s review of the QN90C, tell us how many hours of TV get watched in your home, and one thing that you learned about this television from Shelly’s review.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we will randomly draw two winners. One will receive the Samsung QN90C TV that Shelly reviewed and the other will receive the Samsung Q70C TV that Shelly reviewed.

This contest runs from Sept 15th to Oct 1st.

  1. I need a new TV because I have an old model TV that has terrible picture quality. I also need a new TV because my old TV is not compatible with my new tech devices for streaming. I would watch Star Trek:Lower Decks and The Wheel of Time.

  4. Two reasons why I would love a new TV is well, for one, I need a new TV and two, I’ve always admired the Samsung TV products. I would watch re-runs of Friends and The Big Bang Theory.

  5. Two of our televisions have quit working in the last 6 months and our dishwasher has also died, we cannot afford a new TV! We would love a sweet new Samsung Qled to help us survive the long winter in northern Alberta. We are looking forward to the return of the FBI series as well as the fantastic Canadian production “Transplant”.

  6. I would love to have these TV’s because my TV is from 1998 and it has the huge box that the TV sits in and it takes up to much room. I would also like to have these TV’s because I’m sure the picture has got to be so much better than my ancient tv.
    The shows I’m looking forward to coming back are Chicago PD, The FBI’s series, Will Trent, Fire Country, Ghosts, CSI Vegas, plus many more because I’m a TV junkie

  7. I would like a new TV because the one I have is only a 32″ basic unit and the picture quality is not the greatest. I would watch Hockey Night In Canada and Monday Night Football (among other sports).

  8. We are a one TV household and it is old. I would love a new TV so I could have one in the bedroom to have on while I am cleaning or getting ready for bed or up in the morning. I would watch Magnum PI (both the old and new versions). I love seeing the scenery of Hawaii.

  9. The main reason I want a new tv this fall, is for my grandmother. Her TV is out of date and isn’t compatible with our new cable system. Another reason is because her TV is on the smaller side and I think she’d enjoy a bigger one. My grandma is 90 years old and her 2 favourite shows that she’s looking forward to watching are Hudson & Rex, and Wheel of Fortune. Personally, I’m looking forward to Survivor.

    I’m looking for to watching the new Frasier reboot that comes out this fall as well as the 2023-2024 NHL Hockey season! This TV will be on every night!

  48. The first reason I would like a new tv is that I presently have an old model tv with a picture tube which is very outdated. Secondly I would like a larger screen as my old tv has a 20 inch screen. My tv is totally outdated and the picture quality doesn’t compare to the newer tvs.
