Why you should be looking at Samsung TVs in 2023

Have you looked at the range of TVs on display at a Best Buy store these days? I have. Impressive. Almost all of them are LED TVs, though there are a range of types of LED TVs. In the store your eyes will first be drawn to the stunning Samsung Frame TVs. We gave one of these away earlier this year on the blog. Then you’ll look at some of the other types of LEDs and, if you are like most people, you’ll be confused by the terms: OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED. All three are great. All three do some things better than other things. For example, OLEDs have the best blacks thanks to individual self-lighting pixels. QLED has the best brightness (great for bright rooms) thanks to the backlighting. Neo QLEDs are the best combination thanks to their arrays of mini-LED backlighting. Samsung QLED and Neo QLEDs have other advantages too including lower costs.

Why do you want a new TV this fall

Each year, the fall season seems to usher in not just pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, but also a surge in people bringing home new TV sets. Here are the top two reasons why:

1. New models and clearance sales

Television manufacturers often release new models in the spring and summer so by fall, these new releases have had time to be reviewed so you know which ones to buy. This not only help you make more informed decisions but also puts pressure on retailers to clear out older inventory to make room for the next generation of models. So whether you are looking for the best new TVs or last year’s models at significant savings, this is the best time of year.

2. Ready for holiday entertainment and sports events

The fall season is a precursor to major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, all of which are synonymous with family gatherings and home entertainment. People anticipate needing a better or bigger TV to host movie marathons, special broadcasts, and, of course, holiday specials. Additionally, fall is a significant season for sports with the NFL, NBA, and NHL seasons bringing excitement into our homes. The lure of watching big games and key matchups on a shiny new screen can be hard to resist.

Fall is a perfect storm of incentives; it’s the season not just for falling leaves but also for finding the perfect new TV for your home on television sets. And it’s the perfect time for us to have a contest giving two of the newest and best TVs away.

  3. In a comment beneath Shelly’s review of the QN90C, tell us how many hours of TV get watched in your home, and one thing that you learned about this television from Shelly’s review.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we will randomly draw two winners. One will receive the Samsung QN90C TV that Shelly reviewed and the other will receive the Samsung Q70C TV that Shelly reviewed.

This contest runs from Sept 15th to Oct 1st.

  4. I would like a new TV this fall to replace our 18 years old tv that is not Smart and refuses to use an all in one remote. It also weighs close to a ton so anytime we need to move it requires 2 very strong people. Ah, to be able to stream and get a nice, clear picture. I’d love to watch Survivor on a new tv and movies such as the upcoming All the Light We Cannot See.

Now that I have answered the 2 reasons in another reply ( I do not have a 4K or a smart TV) I forgot to comment as to what 2 TV shows that I want to watch if I win this TV , and that would have to be “Dancing With The Stars” because of the fantastic costumes/gowns that they wear on the show and the other show would have to be ” AGT – America’s Got Talent” as that show also has many competitors on, doing all sorts of spectacular stunts.

  10. Current tv is quite old and the resolution isn’t the best. Would love to watch the upcoming NHL season and Fast X on the Samsung QLED TV’s.

  11. Who would not want a new tv! I would love a new Samsung tv because of the Samsung Smart Hub that gives you voice control, a variety of streaming apps, and control over your smart devices and Four HDMI 2.1 inputs, two USB inputs, Ethernet, and Optical Out because lets be honest with this writers strike going on as long as it is there won’t be any new shows this fall so I will have to watch and stream apps and catch up on Netflix, refresh on old Disney Classics and maybe get some Play station and Xbox playing time in and with extra inputs and smart device features with the Samsung tv I will be set.

  12. I would love a new TV for the increased size and picture quality compared to the one I have. I would watch Masterchef and Oilers hockey on it.

  13. The 2 reasons why I would like a new TV is because our current TV is not a Smart TV and because we do not have 4k. My husband loves to watch his Sports games (NHL, Football and Soccer). In addition to that, we have only a 43″ sized TV and the size could definitely be a lot bigger.

  46. Well, first of all, Samsung is my go to…TV, cell…etc. Secondly, fall is my favorite season…NFL, NHL, NBA…all would be better on a new QLED. Can’t wait for the start of Chicago PD(my fav) and SWAT. Bring it on!!!
