Imagine if you could have all those moments at any time in your busy life. That kind of convenience combined with the lovable moments a pet can bring, plus easy cleanup to boot, is not only possible, it’s downright easy with the Dogness iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser and the Simplehuman 58L Sensor Can with Voice Control. Read on to find out how this handy combo makes having a pet even more fun and lets you share special moments from anywhere.

From cat videos to cute stories, we all love pets

Everyone loves cat videos, it seems. They basically rule the Internet, and for good reason: they’re adorable. I’ve been known to steal a moment (or two) at work to watch a few on my laptop. Plus, watching puppy livestreams is basically a hobby of mine now. I suppose the availability of high quality smart cameras has helped boost the number of these online. Getting to watch these super cute pets even when I’m nowhere near them physically is something I’ve integrated into my daily routine by now.

Like other people without pets, I also use these live streams to vicariously experience the joy and fun pets can bring. In a similar manner, I definitely ask to see my coworkers’ pets whenever possible. From their adorably chubby cats to their fluffy dogs, photos and videos of their pets are even better, because I get to hear all the stories that go along with them. Like that time their rabbit chewed through their computer cords, immensely proud of itself when discovered, or their dog who’s afraid of waves in the ocean.

Many of those stories involve a similar desire for all these pet owners: the ability to interact with their beloved animals when they’re not at home. I don’t imagine their animals collude together, in the style of The Secret Life of Pets, or anything, but I definitely would appreciate a break at work to see my coworkers’ pets on their smartphones in real-time.

Plus, I know that pets come with cleanup needs, and anything to make that easier would mean more cute stories for me. That is, I mean, more convenience for my coworkers. How would these two things combine, you ask? Read on to find out how!

Keep tabs on pets and keep things clean, too

The Dogness iPet Smart Robot pet treat dispenser sits on a wooden floor to the left of the image; an orange cat stares at it from the right side of the image. You could set up a webcam to keep an eye on your pets, but could that webcam hand out treats, shine a laser pointer, and make sounds, too? As you can see in Shelly Wutke’s review of the Dogness iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser, that’s possible. The iPet Smart Robot can maneuver around your home and take video. It can even dispense treats and shine a laser pointer to entertain and reward your pets from afar. Plus, it can make noises like growls, barks, and meows to get your pet’s attention—and even stop them from doing something naughty when you’re not there. It comes with an app where you can control the robot and its functions, plus view the camera’s live feed and take photos (that you can then share with your friends and coworkers).

After you do get home, there’s probably still some cleanup to be done with pets around. You may have stopped the cat from tearing up all the toilet paper thanks to your Dogness iPet Smart Robot, but there is still a litterbox to clean. Thankfully, the folks at Simplehuman came up with the Simplehuman 58L Sensor Can with Voice Control. A smart trash can may seem silly at first, but trust me, after you see Shelly’s review you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. For example, you’ve scooped up the kitty litter and now you have to get it into the trash. Instead of having to fiddle with foot pedals or getting your cabinets dirty, you can just say “open can” and drop in the cat litter.

With both these devices, not only will you be able to see and interact with your lovable companions from afar, you’ll be able to keep tabs on them and keep everything clean, too.

  1. Love the “stay open” voice command for the simple human trash can. Very handy when I’m involved in a messy cooking project!

  2. the camera would be so awesome so i can keep an eye on my 3 pets! all of the other features are wonderful too. how cool this would be to be able to talk to them, see what they are up to and give treats too! i am impressed with both of these new techy units!!

  3. For the sensor can I love the voice control and recognition in busy loud environments, and the pet robot I love that it dispenses treats and plays laser beam with them.

  4. The iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser would be a perfect gift to donate to an animal rescue organization in know in my area. They have a number of communal cats that roam freely throughout the premises and the ability to video them and dispense treats remotely when volunteers aren’t around would be fantastic.

  5. The idea of a voice activated garbage can is something I haven’t heard of before but is actually so genius! No more touching the can getting my hands all dirty, or struggling to open the lid with my hands full. My favorite features are the leak-free lining and quiet close!

  6. Dogness iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser but can be used for my cats, more ways to have fun during quarantine but when I go back to work I can check in with them and give them a treat!

  7. The voice control garbage can, who knew, would be on my want list. A robot to amuse my kitties but I like that I could keep an eye on them when not able to.

  8. Easy interaction with pets while away. I have a cat and a dog at home, my large 80lb goldendoodle is 4 years old and the cat is about 13 or 14 years old. It would be great to be able to interact with him while I’m in school full time, working, or in the future as I become an accountant and have to spend a lot of time at work. Check in on the pets (Chewbacca the dog and Shadow the cat) to ensure they’re both happy, healthy, and getting along.

  9. My pug Evie would love the treat dispensing feature. This little robot would be her new best friend. It would be a great toy for the people in the house too.

  10. IF I had that garbage can with voice command the lid wouldn’t need to be cleaned and disinfected daily…kids never seem to be able to not include the lid lol

  11. The stainless steel exterior with nano-silver coating for extended usability and protection from fingerprints and stains of the Simplehuman 58L Sensor Can is great since it will match my appliance.

  12. I like the voice recognition on the simple human can so that I can open and close it super conveniently if my hands are busy!

  13. The interactive laser on the Dogness iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser sounds great because I can play with my dog remotely!

  15. I love that you can interact with your pet and at the same time play with them remotely of the Dogness iPet smart robot treat dispenser.

  16. The feature that really stands out for me on the Simplehuman Sensor Can is the stainless-steel built can with nano-silver finish that keeps it resistant to fingerprints and germs. I also love that sensors recognize my voice commands – what a lark! The 360-degree control and view on the Dogness iPet Smart Robot would be an awesome feature to try.

  17. The garbage can sounds life changing! I love that it can be controlled by either hand gestures or voice command and I absolutely love the stay open feature.

  18. The built-in camera is a great feature of the Dogness iPet smart robot & love how it saves them to your device! The Simplehuman smart can would be awesome for our family with its large capacity & voice commands that would actually encourage my children to throw out their own garbage instead of hoping mommy will do it!

  19. just got a new cat, that would be a thrill for me to have a cat in the house even though it’s a robot,,

  20. The fact that I can command my garbage can is most satisfying…I like being in charge! Hate those times when the cabinet door slams while I’m standing there with a messy load for the garbage can. Now how great is a pet monitor that could entertain and watch my kitties, for those times I would rather be playing games!

  21. Oh gosh – that treat dispenser would be so much fun! It’d be great to play with the cats from work…whenever we go back to work that is!

  22. The feature that stand out the most for me is the three voice commands on the Simplehuman Sensor Can with Voice Control. Thanks!

  23. I love that the treat dispenser can move around the house unlike other smart treat dispensers.

  24. The Dogness iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser would let me give treats right from the companion app on my phone.

  25. Its neat that the Dogness iPet smart robot treat dispenser can allow you to interact with your pets and at the same time play with them remotely. How #KEWL is this!!!

  26. The feature that stand out the most for me is the three voice commands (“Open Can,” “Stay Open,” and “Close Can”) on the Simplehuman Sensor Can with Voice Control.

  27. A voice controlled garbage can, that is what I need…germaphobic. Kitties would really enjoy a robot and I’d enjoyed being able to keep a remote eye on them.
