Dyson Supersonic takes hair care to the next level

The first hair dryer was invented in 1890 and it was a massive, seated contraption and it would be about 25 years until the first handheld hair dryers were available. Since then, the hair dryer has thankfully become more powerful, easier to use, and more portable, but it has seen little change in its form and concept. Now Dyson has switched things up.

The Dyson Supersonic rethinks the whole form of the hair dryer. It was designed with technologies that protect your hair from further damage due to styling. Once you try it you’ll immediately realize just how different this hair care product really is.

When you use a regular blow dryer you have to open yourself to the possibility of heat damage. Although it dries your hair, the trade off is that it takes away that natural shine you’d get if you didn’t use one at all.

With the Dyson Supersonic, you get access to intelligent heat control. It uses a thermistor with 1600 watts of power, and it measures the air temperature 20 times per second so it never sends out a blast of extreme heat. Monitoring the temperature protects your hair, and when you protect it from heat, your natural shine comes through.

Personalized styling options

Some powerful hair dryers blow your hair every which way, resulting in a rather frizzy hairdo. That’s not the case with the Dyson Supersonic. The Dyson Supersonic balances power and force by focusing a blast of air on your hair one section at a time, letting you keep it smooth without disturbing the other sections. It also sends negative ions in the air to reduce static, so your hair is flyaway free.

With the motor in the handle, the Dyson Supersonic is easy to hold and use. Unlike a traditional hair dryer, the weight is in the handle, not the barrel, creating a balanced tool that will cause less fatigue as you dry your tresses.

  18. I love Dyson products, very innovative as this super modern hair dryer goes to show. I love the fact that this hairdryer prevents damage to your hair using an intelligent heat control and is so quiet and well balanced. Let’s face it, I love this hairdryer!
