Earth day is a great time to familiarize yourself with eco-friendly printers like the Epson ET-8500 printer. As we march towards a greener and cleaner future, we’re always on the lookout for the latest sustainable and eco-friendly technologies. Epson’s new line of supertank printers help you reduce waste and increase productivity—and produce amazing high-quality prints. Learn why this printer is better for the planet and for you, then enter to win one for your home.

Two reasons why Epson EcoTank printers are better for the environment

Over the past few years I have used much less paper and print a lot less at home too. One of the most important reasons is that my children graduated from school and moved out. No more school projects to print. While they were in school I bet we used an ink cartridge every month or two. Parents, you know what I am talking about! Recycling and composting are activities that many of us are doing a lot more than even a decade ago. Purchasing products from companies creating sustainable tech, like Epson, is another way to help the planet.

The EcoTank printers from Epson are just what parents need: you’ll save money and you’ll be helping the environment.

Save money: Ink cartridges are not cheap! With an Epson ET-8550 you’ll just refill the ink reservoirs in the printer when the ink levels are low. You won’t ever buy another ink cartridge! In fact, the ink bottles this printer comes with have so much ink that my family would have gone years without needing to buy more. Each ink bottle set is equivalent of 100 ink cartridges.

Help the environment: Fewer ink cartridges in your shopping cart means less ink cartridge plastic in the environment. It also means less plastic packaging for those ink cartridges, less energy being used on ink cartridge production, and less travel back and forth to transport those ink cartridges. You can see how big a deal these printers are.

Celebrate Earth Day by spreading the news about Epson Ecotank printers

Do you celebrate Earth Day? You can! You could host an Earth Day party: use an Epson eco-friendly printer to create the invitations. Okay perhaps not. Or you could petition the government to turn Earth Day into a stat holiday. That too may be a bit too extreme for most of us. Perhaps a simpler way to help the environment is to just tell friends and family about companies, like Epson, who are making an effort toward sustainability, creating technology that uses less plastic and consumes less energy. Even better when you save money at the same time as you do with an Epson printer!

Then tell your friends to read and follow these instructions and they might win one.

  1. Every spring I plant new trees and when a tree dies we chip the branches and return them to the earth. We also mulch leaves in the fall so they can stay and enrich the ground. Our compost is put back into the veggie garden every spring.

  2. Reducing the amount of cartridges going in to the dumps is great and the fact 1 bottle replaces 100 cartridges approximately is ama
    amazing.

  3. I take all my plastic recycling to the depot that takes it all. I use residual heat on the stove, oven, dryer, curling iron, that is, turn those things off and continue using the heat that remains. I use environmental friendly soap and water the plants with the recycled the dish water. Planning on getting a bee hive for my yard to increase bee population and pollinate our apple trees.

  4. I really focus on the amount of time I use the water in the shower. The minute I no longer need water, I shut it off.

  5. I bring my own containers to the bulk store to avoid getting items in plastic bags. This is helpful as well because I store the products in containers anyways, so I don’t have to transfer them when I get home as well.

  6. one innovative thing that I do in my home to reduce waste and help the environment is grow a garden and buy local meat.

  7. To reduce waste and help the environment I keep food waste to an absolute minimum by using leftovers in innovative ways.

  8. Sounds like a great printer. A little expensive, but perhaps I’m out of touch and they are all pricey these days. I like the fact you don’t have to buy cartridges and I don’t have to be running to the store to buy more. A savings both ways. At home I use my own grocery bags everywhere I go to save recycling or garbage of used bags.

  9. We purchase food items like onions, carrots, legumes and rice in bulk to save money, share with family and friends, and avoid extra packaging. These are used in turn to cook soups in large batches that save energy and time.

  10. We repurpose as much as possible to avoid filling up the dump, purchasing yet another thing, or recycling something that could have been used some more.

  11. at home we try to buy minimally packaged items and attempt to recycle/reuse as much of the packaging as we can

  12. We have a small compost pail right next to the sink to make it easy to get food waste composted without the trek to the bin

  13. I do all the little things, Save up soap slivers and make new soaps with them by squishing them together. I never throw out any plastic bags ( for example, frozen french fries ) I reuse them to clean up after my dog so I get multiple uses and cut down on plastic garbage at the same time. I am a carbon copy of my dad, always turning out lights in unoccupied rooms etc.

  14. I use reusable grocery bags, and not just for groceries, and I recycle and compost.

I love that with this printer its reduces waste by eliminating cartridges, and the cost savings certainly help the environment.

  15. I return my used ink cartridges to the recycling centres and instead of printing greeting cards etc., I send soft copies.
