How does adding a monitor change how your work and play

What would you do with more screen real estate? My wife and I were discussing this yesterday as I was making notes for this article. As a teacher tasked with doing online instruction for the first time in her life, she had no trouble seeing the benefits of three monitors. She’d put Zoom on one, for her video interaction during her classes, put her Google Forms assignments and quizzes on another screen, and use the 3rd screen for Microsoft Teams or email depending on which class she had at the time. Rather than flipping from one application to another on the single screen she currently uses, she would have them all right in front making her work so much easier.

  2. My husband does a lot of photography and this would be a perfect setup for him. One screen for photoshop, one with his pics on it, third for social media.

  8. With the extra space, I would be multitasking like crazy. My media player would be on one screen, my work space would be the center screen and the third monitor would be my time waster screen with something distracting being shown there.

  12. I would use one for daily internet cruising and emails. The other two I would hook up together for watching my fav sports.

  16. With school starting up online I’d have One for teachers video, one for Google Classroom and one for notepad. My kids would have 3 screens for Minecraft as soon as I left the room.

  17. Thanks for the opportunity to upgrade my monitor to a multi option. I would use one screen for my email, one for gaming and one for research on my family history. I hate having to switch back and forth as I do things because I have gotten an email or it is taking time for something to pop up in either my game or my search so I minimize and open another program. This would save me lots of time and headaches of losing stuff because I accidentally close it.

  33. I do a lot of spreadsheet work, but keep having to switch programs because I don’t have enough room on my monitor. This one would definitely boost my productivity!

  34. I would have the middle screen for doing assignments for University, the left screen for notes and researching, and the right screen for procrastinating 🙂

    Right, secondary apps related to whatever I’m working on.
    Left, likely monitoring program.
    All three for immersive gaming when playing.

  47. I would use the extra real-estate for doing my coding and software development. And obviously gaming during non-billable hours.

  49. I would use one screen for my accounting files, then one for excel where i have to track a lot and go from page to page back and forth, and one for emails.

  50. A lot of my work requires being on multiple applications, so I would have google folder and docs open on one screen, a browser open on another screen from which I can access the CRM, and slack open on the third screen for the constant chatter between the team.
