Microsoft just wrapped up its event in New York. Look for an emphasis on creativity when Windows 10 Creators Update arrives in the spring, with a push into 3D and augmented reality creation. But the star of this show was the Surface Studio, an incredible new all-in-one PC. Here’s what you need to know about Microsoft’s big announcements.

What is a campus ready tablet?

How useful is a tablet when it comes to getting things done on campus? That may depend on what your needs are, but as tablet utility and functionality continues to grow and improve, a case can be made that having the right one can be vital to your overall productivity at school. The question is: are you in need of a laptop replacement or a situational substitute?

Review: Eurocom Shark 2

0

I see a lot of laptops come through my door and many of them try to impress with fancy sculpted cases and LED lighting effects. Granted, looking hot does get some points upfront, but after trying out my third Eurocom laptop in the past few years —this time the Shark 2— I’ve really come to appreciate this manufacturer’s approach. While the Shark 2 doesn’t look cheap, it is understated compared to many laptops aimed at the gaming and graphics professional crowd. It’s also a solid performer with a good display, high quality sound, a powerful Intel Haswell CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M graphics card for gaming.

The summer is already half over, which means back to school is only a month away. Which is a bummer for most but there is a silver lining, it is the best time to get a new PC or upgrade from your current potato of a rig and I have got some great gaming computers here, to help give you a one up on the competition in game and in school.

Linksys wireless routers: smart and built for performance

0
Linksys was founded in the 1980s, previously owned by networking giant Cisco and is now under the ownership of Belkin. It’s probably best known for producing the top-selling router of all time, the blue and black Linksys WRT54G series. I’ve reviewed several Linksys wireless routers this year, including the WRT54G’s successor —the WRT1900AC— and always come away impressed. This is a brand that consumers and small business owners can count on for being at the centre of their high performance Wi-Fi network.
