Project xCloud is now part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate—cloud gaming for your mobile devices
You first heard of it as Project xCloud, and now Xbox mobile cloud gaming is part of your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Play your favourite Xbox games anywhere and any time. Resume your game from a coffee shop, chat with your friends from the front porch, earn a trophy on your lunch break.
All you need is a high-speed internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular), a controller, a mobile device, and a subscription to play over 100 of your favourite Xbox games, anywhere. You don’t even need to own an Xbox!
Many Xbox fans will prefer to stick with the familiar textured grip and sleek design of the classic Xbox Wireless Controller. It’s compatible with mobile devices, and also ideal for playing Xbox cloud games on a Windows 10 PC or laptop. But leading gaming companies like Razer are also releasing controllers and accessories to make your Xbox mobile gaming experience even better.
Pick up and play, anywhere, any time
You love your Xbox game console and all its games. However, there are times when you simply aren’t able to play. Someone else is using the TV, you’re at work, or at a resort enjoying a well-earned vacation. But you still want to play and stay connected. Moving your Xbox and a TV from room to room, or out of your home isn’t a practical solution. Cloud gaming is. With Microsoft’s new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate cloud gaming, you can play over 100 of your favourite Xbox games on your mobile device.
Because your Xbox profile is stored in the cloud, all of your achievements, cloud saves, and friends are also accessible. You can start playing a game at home on your Xbox console, then pick right up where you left off by playing on your smartphone on your lunch break at work.
Play your Xbox favourites on your mobile devices
With your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you get access to all of your favourite Xbox games. The library is currently at over 100 AAA titles and growing. You can play these games on an Xbox, a Windows 10 PC, an Android smartphone, or an Android tablet.
With a high-speed internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular) and a supported controller, you’ll be able to game with your friends no matter where you are. In fact, because everything is online, with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription you can play Xbox games (including multiplayer games) without even owning an Xbox game console. Your mobile device and a subscription are the keys to enjoying the Xbox experience including top games, multiplayer, and voice chat, on a wide range of mobile devices.
What you need to get started
One of the best features of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate mobile cloud gaming is how little you need to get started.
Requirements are a subscription, Wi-Fi (5GHz connection recommended) or mobile data capable of 10Mbps download speeds, a compatible controller, and a supported device. If using a smartphone or tablet, they must be running Android 6.0 or greater, with Bluetooth 4.0 or greater, and you’ll need the Xbox Game Pass mobile app. That’s it.
A wide variety of accessories is being offered by third party companies to optimize your Xbox cloud gaming experience. These include phone clips, chargers, and controllers. Razer has released the Kishi universal gaming controller with console-level controls, and MOGA offers the XP5-X Plus, with Bluetooth connectivity, mappable buttons and an integrated power bank. Or stick with the classic Xbox Wireless Controller with its familiar sleek design, textured grip, and compatibility with mobile devices, Windows 10 PCs, and laptops.
