BenQ projectors

Projectors have been around for many years, yet I don’t think they get the love they deserve! They are more versatile than a television, can display everything from movies to presentations on a huge range of surfaces, and they enable to project a huge range of image sizes. Find out for yourself: enter to win one of four BenQ projectors from BenQ and Best Buy.

Many years ago, when my children were younger, I bought a projector to use as the main display in my basement home theatre. I was shocked that it never stayed in one place: my wife would move it to the bedroom to watch a movie when she was sick in bed, my kids would move it to their bedrooms for sleepovers, and I even took it to work a couple times for presentations. That’s something you certainly can’t say about a television. Rarely a day went by that it was not used for movies, gaming, work and more.

What are some of the great features found in BenQ projectors

Get one of the newest projectors in your home from BenQ and you’ll be amazed at how much you’ll use it. The prizes that we are giving away in this contest, two BenQ SVGA DLP Data Projectors (MS517EH) and two BenQ 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projectors (W1090) were reviewed here on the blog by Erin Lawrence: read her review and you’ll learn why she was “blown away.”

Here are some of the features that impressed her about both projectors:

  • virtually no set up required; plug it in and it is ready to go
  • projected a massive image with amazing clarity
  • bright display even in a brightly lit room

… and specifically about the W1090 (which is designed for home theatres)

  • automatically found the input source including Chromecast
  • picture was remarkable: “this picture rivaled any TV”
  • internal 10W speaker provides fuller sound than the data projector

Which of these features stands out for you as the best? Will you use it mostly for work, for streaming movies … maybe for gaming! Enter now and you may get to find out for yourself how great BenQ projectors are.

  1. Love the clarity that rivals any TV; always was a problem with projectors was their picture quality as we stretched the picture out to fill the space we had.

  2. The colours are true to life, and the contrast ratio is similar to that of an HDTV. There is no washout whatsoever, and after a while it’s easy to forget you’re watching a projected image and not a TV screen.

  3. I like the sturdiness of BenQ projectors. They’re built to withstand rugged conditions. I also like the fact that they consistently come with a lens adjuster to help focus image. I also use the adjuster foot a lot, to change the inclination on screen.

  4. Feature I like would be the usability of it even in a brightly lit room. Usage would be in the living room where we could use it for movies and gatherings! 🙂

  5. I used Benq projector before. Benq product is good. I need one projector for my home theater. Benq projector will be a good for it.

  6. Definitely would use the HT projectors in my living room for movie night with the kids or wife. The Data ones I would probably use as well in a home theater setting, but would definitely consider using it for work as well. Cheap projectors during presentations reflect on what you are projecting!

  7. For Home theater, having a crisp, bright display is a must. Sports are on while the sun is up often, and i don’t want to wait until 9 during the summer to watch a movie.

  8. THIS WILL BE A GREAT ADDITION FOR ENTERTAINING. AS WELL IT WILL BE GREAT AS A TEACHING TOOL AS WE WILL BE ABLE TO USE IT FOR PRESENTATIONS , WORKSHOPS AND MUSIC LESSON PRESENTATIONS.

  9. The BenQ projectors will be perfect for me to use daily at home for movies, screenings at the church on Sundays, and presentations on the go. The MS517 can be a very useful multi purpose projector for me every day!

  10. I must say that I’ve been researching lots about tvs but little on projectors. The features that the BenQ has is very attractive for a buyer like me. The one feature I really like is the sports mode. A projected that enhances colors and skin tones to make you feel like your at the game is something worth investing into.

  11. I am amazed by how well BenQ projectors work in a bright room! I used to borrow a friend’s projector for presentations but always had an difficulties in a room with lights. I have read reviews by Erin Lawrence and also checked out reviews on the Internet; I am very impressed by the BenQ. Having the long distance capability is also a bonus especially when you dont know where you will end up giving the presentations.

  12. Our REC Room would would be a perfect place for a BenQ projector & as it requires no set up & is portable, we could take it over to a friend’s place as well!

  13. I would use a BenQ 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projector (W1090) the most watching hockey games in the living room.

  14. Being able to project a 100″ image from just 2.5m away is my favourite feature on the BenQ 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projector (W1090).

  15. The specs looks amazing, cannot compromise on the quality of the projector. owning a good projector is extremely important. I was having a projector of different brand earlier and with in 2 days of use I need to return back as this have caused by severe eye pain due to low resolution and clarity. I normally use projector for diff purposes from watching movies and for presentations. Also this have various options to connect my devices which is good almost all my electronic devices can be connected. Looking forward“bright display even in a brightly lit room”
Very important for business presentations when you can’t always get full darkness at a client’s place.

  16. I think the projector would be the perfect addition to the washroom. It’s about time I watch game of thrones while sitting on the throne eh?

  17. I love the HDMI feature allowing for the usage of Chromecast as a direct input source!!! This makes it perfect for streaming cat videos off youtube!!!

  18. I will definitely set this up in my bedroom, and because it’s so mobile I can easily move it to the living room if necessary. But definitely something I will use in my room for sure, I’ve always wanted a projector! Makes everything much more simpler to watch.

  19. I love how easy it is to set up as well as internal speakers! I I don’t really have a good set of speakers and it sounds really great that they made the process so easy.

  20. My favorite feature is the short throw ratio of 1.15 to 1.5 and that you can project to a 100″ image from just 2.5m away. I have a smaller living room and this would be great !

  21. I would use the BenQ projector for home as it would make a great addition to the living room and hanging it high would put it out of harm’s way from my little son lol.

  22. I would say having Chromecast built in my favorite feature. Most times when you want to directly show family and friends what you’re watching from your phone with no cables required it will come in handy. That’s pretty cool !
