Projectors have been around for many years, yet I don’t think they get the love they deserve! They are more versatile than a television, can display everything from movies to presentations on a huge range of surfaces, and they enable to project a huge range of image sizes. Find out for yourself: enter to win one of four BenQ projectors from BenQ and Best Buy.
Many years ago, when my children were younger, I bought a projector to use as the main display in my basement home theatre. I was shocked that it never stayed in one place: my wife would move it to the bedroom to watch a movie when she was sick in bed, my kids would move it to their bedrooms for sleepovers, and I even took it to work a couple times for presentations. That’s something you certainly can’t say about a television. Rarely a day went by that it was not used for movies, gaming, work and more.
What are some of the great features found in BenQ projectors
Get one of the newest projectors in your home from BenQ and you’ll be amazed at how much you’ll use it. The prizes that we are giving away in this contest, two BenQ SVGA DLP Data Projectors (MS517EH) and two BenQ 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projectors (W1090) were reviewed here on the blog by Erin Lawrence: read her review and you’ll learn why she was “blown away.”
Here are some of the features that impressed her about both projectors:
virtually no set up required; plug it in and it is ready to go
- projected a massive image with amazing clarity
- bright display even in a brightly lit room
… and specifically about the W1090 (which is designed for home theatres)
- automatically found the input source including Chromecast
- picture was remarkable: “this picture rivaled any TV”
- internal 10W speaker provides fuller sound than the data projector
Which of these features stands out for you as the best? Will you use it mostly for work, for streaming movies … maybe for gaming! Enter now and you may get to find out for yourself how great BenQ projectors are.

I really like the limited setup requirements. Easy plug and play is a big bonus.
Easy setup a must for this mentally challenged tech adult.
I like the ease of setup of these projectors. I would donate it to my church, since their projector is breaking down with white dots showing all over the image.
I’ll use this in my living room to explore the Wasteland is all its muted brown glory.
I love the ease of setup. I envision a movie night at he campsite!
I have a nice big wall in my Living Room where I would absolutely LOVE to project a Game or Movie (s)
My fav feature is being able to projected a massive image with amazing clarity.
Projectors of old and even old school Projection TV’s were terrible for brightness and clarity, for the most part.
No nonsense set up is a real attractive feature. Get straight to the entertainment without the fuss.
The portability of these amazing projectors would be great for showimg movies in the rec room, on the back deck, or anywhere.
The built in speaker is one of the features I like.
Would definitely use it in the living room so everyone could enjoy it.
I like the idea that no set-up is required.
Massive and clarity
I like that you plug it in and it works.
My favourite feature is that it has a bright display even in a brightly lit room
The specs looks amazing, cannot compromise on the quality of the projector. owning a good projector is extremely important. I was having a projector of different brand earlier and with in 2 days of use I need to return back as this have caused by severe eye pain due to low resolution and clarity. I normally use projector for diff purposes from watching movies and for presentations. Also this have various options to connect my devices which is good almost all my electronic devices can be connected. Looking forward.
Will be using in my living room for movies.
The clarity of this projector
My favourite feature of this projector is its 4K resolution!
I would use this in my living room for family viewing!
Feature I like it the no set up required
I would use this in the family room for movie nights.
I like the DLP display technology that ensures smooth video with deep blacks and high contrast.
I would use the projector in my living room. It’s the room we’re all in most often and we’re usually watching something.
I would use this in our family room!
We would use it anywhere we could with how light weight is is…we could have it outside in the summer time and more than likely it would spend most of its time in my SO’s mancave!!!
I’m house hunting at the moment, so I would probably use the projector in my future den!
I love that virtually no set up required; plug it in and it is ready to go
Favourite feature? The BenQ projectors are so bright! My TV’s a bit dim, so I could use an upgrade!
I like the BenQ 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projectors (W1090).
I would set up the projector in a home theatre once I win it. Thanks
Most looking forward to the ability to use it in a brighter room than most projectors as well as the Chromecast compatability since I have them in every room of the house.
I would definitely use it in my theater/rec room! Would make an awesome addition!
Easy set is a big plus but knowing that the picture quality can rival my TV is awesome.
I love the possibility of a huge and bright screen
I should put this in my living room but I will probably put in my bedroom.
We would use this in our family room most.
I love that they are so easy to set up!
I would set it up in a home theatre!
The feature that is most important to me is the remarkable picture quality. So important in a home theatre!
Feature would be the size of the projection and the quality of the feed. I would use it in my mancave for sporting events. Show off to my friends.
I would use it in my mancave! I have to say the feature would be the size of the projection and quality.
Now that we are finally seeing the grass here in Alberta I would set it up on our patio for some outdoor movie nights.
I would use it in my family room.
I like that it is a “no setup” set up. How hard is it to plug in an equipment? 🙂 Not at all … a toddler can practically do it.
I would love to win the BenQ 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projectors (W1090).
I love that it is easy to set up.
This would be perfect in the bedroom to watch movies with the kids on family movie night.
I’d be using it at home on the back deck. Amazing for outdoor movie nights!
“bright display even in a brightly lit room”
Very important for business presentations when you can’t always get full darkness at a client’s place.
“bright display even in a brightly lit room”
We don’t have any dark rooms so this is a key feature! What’s the point of having a huge screen if you can’t see it right? 🙂
