Summer time is almost here (okay, let’s all agree that it is here), so what better time to head inside and play some board games? Some of you might not be as board game focused as I am, as I’ll never turn down an opportunity to play some board games, but the summer is still a great time to get your game on, even if it is after a day out in the sun! What else are you going to do at the cabin (cottage for those east of Alberta), trailer, or even in your own home in the evening?

What’s that? You don’t have many games to play? Well, you’ve stumbled upon the perfect contest then, haven’t you? Best Buy’s Plug-in Blog is giving away oodles of top quality board games! Now, I’m not just saying they’re great games and then actually giving away board games based off of 1990s TV shows—no, these are legitimately awesome games.

Here are some examples of the great games you could be playing this summer

And then we throw in a couple of Monopoly games for the traditionalists (Han Solo Monopoly, and Game of Thrones Monopoly), an adults-only Trivial Pursuit game, and some party games (Speak Out and Fake News)! What more do you want? Oh, you want the rules on how to win? Right.

HOW TO ENTER

Entering to win one of these board games is simple, but you can only enter once. Leave a comment at the bottom of this article with the name of a game that you would love to try this summer and why.

WHAT CAN YOU WIN

At the end of the contest, we’ll choose 5 winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will win one of 5 board game prize packages (complete prize package descriptions are shown in the rules and regulations).

This contest runs from June 1st until June 18th.

Remember, you can only enter once. However, you can share this as many times, and with as many people, as you like. Challenge your friends to share too. Make a game of sharing this post, and you never know, someone in your social circle might win and invite you over for a fun summer game night.

Good Luck.

  1. Imhotep – sounds like fun strategy and concept (and an excuse to watch the Mummy while playing!)

  2. I want to try Speak Out!!! I’ve watched YouTube videos on that game and it just looks hilarious!!! Who couldn’t use more laughter in their lives?? 😀

  3. I would love to try DropMix because it looks like a fun activity to do with the family and very entertaining.

  4. Imhotep probably tops my list followed closely by Legends of Andor. Always been a fan of strategy games.

  5. I want to try that Imhotep! A strategy game sounds intriguing. But to be honest, I want to try all of them. I haven’t heard of any of them!

  6. I’d love to try Legends of Andor! My husband is always trying to get me to play boardgames with him and this looks interesting for the both of us!

  7. Drop mix sounds like a blast to play with my 2 boys. They love music and have done some mixing and sampling already so I know they will love this game.

  8. My family and I LOVE cooperative board games and are looking forward to trying Legends of Andor. Looks like an excellent way to spend an evening at the cottage with the kids! Who need screens when there are Dragons to be fought?

  9. I’d like to try all of the games listed but if i had to choose one, it would be Imhotep. I’m a huge fan of strategy games of all sorts.

  10. Legends of Andor looks like the perfect game to play with family. A cooperative game filter with adventure and an unknown onslaught of magical beings.
I look forward to playing it.

  11. Machi Koro or Sushi Go would be great. Always been a fan of city building games as well as quick but smart games.

  12. Imhotep sounds great! Me and my friendship love game nights like Dominion, 7 Wonders, Bloodrage, and most recently, Gloomhaven!

  13. Legends of Andor sounds like fun and Codenames is one I’ve been contemplating getting for a little while now.

Our family has started doing family game nights once a week and we would love to expand our collection! So far our absolute favourites have been: Taboo, Anomia and playing Mario Kart on the DS (big favourite in our house). We all may be adults, but it’s NEVER too late to start having family game nights.

  14. I think my daughter is now ready for a game like Legends of Andor, especially being co-op.

  15. They all look so fun…. wait what, there’s a BOB ROSS game???! Omg I need it in my life asap ha!

  16. Wow they all look like fun. I’d really like to try Bob Ross and the art of chill because I could play that with my kids as they learn about art.

  17. I’d love to lay codenames. It’s hard to find great games that suppport more than 6 players, so it might be the perfect fit for when friends come over for gamenight!

  18. Codenames sounds really fun, challenging enough, but without taking too much brainpower like the more involved strategy games. Telestrations sounds perfect for a light party game that would inspire lots of laughs.
