TP-Link is on top of its game in Las Vegas, showing off its first Wi-Fi 6 routers, and its new Deco X10 home networking system. Here’s everything you need to know about TP-Link’s new offerings, including the incredible Archer AX11000 tri-band gaming router.
Wi-Fi 6 is here
Are you ready for Wi-Fi 6? If not, you can read up on it here. The latest standard in Wi-Fi networking (formerly known as 802.11ax) promises faster performance with maximum throughput double what 802.11ac can support. There are also significant improvements aimed at the connected home, so having a rapidly growing collection of smart home devices doesn’t bog down your wireless network. TP-Link was at CES 2019 for the launch of its 2019 routers, and the focus was on Wi-Fi 6.
Archer AX11000 tri-band gaming router
TP-Link made a big impression with the Archer AX11000 tri-band gaming router, named a CES 2019 Innovation Awards Honoree. This is a speed demon that takes full advantage of Wi-Fi 6 to deliver combined speeds of over 10 Gbps: a dedicated 5GHz gaming band supports 4804 Mbps, a second 5GHz band has 4804 Mbps and the 2.4GHz band offers 1148 Mbps of throughput.
The gaming focus continues with Game Accelerator that detects and optimizes gaming streams, real-time game stats, built-in game account security, eight Gigabit LAN ports, a 2.5 Gbps WAN port and a 1.8 GHz quad-core CPU (with three coprocessors) to run everything.
Archer AX6000, Archer AX1800 and AX1800 range extender
TP-Link’s Archer brand is offering up several great new choices for consumers looking to upgrade their home Wi-Fi experience. The Archer AX6000 is a powerful new Wi-Fi 6 router with 6 Gbps of bandwidth. That’s enough to stream 8K video, and the X6000 also includes the smarts to automatically filter out interference from neighbouring routers to ensure stable performance.
The Archer AX1800 is a dual-band router that delivers Wi-Fi 6 features at an entry level price point. And for homes that are a little spread out, the new AX1800 range extender delivers high performance, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 networking to any dead zones.
Deco X10 whole home mesh Wi-Fi
Interested in mesh Wi-Fi and all the advantages this approach to wireless networking offers? TP-Link also announced the Deco X10 whole home mesh Wi-Fi system. The Deco X10 combines mesh and Wi-Fi 6, to blanket your home with high speed Wi-Fi. It delivers 2700 Mbps tri-band performance, with a backhaul of up to 1.95 Gbps.
