Modern computing accessories like Seagate storage solutions help boost productivity and security and are great for anyone who works from home. Some people want an ultra portable solution like the One Touch SSD that is light-weight and compact yet still able to store a lot of information. Others prefer a massive Firecuda Gaming Dock with the super fast Thunderbolt 3 connection to get the data to and from your computer with minimal delay, you know Seagate is a great option to handle your data. This contest has both options available as prizes: one winner will get the portable solution, one winner will get the high-capacity solution.
Seagate protects you from putting all your eggs in one basket
Idioms are beautiful language tools that, among other things, enable us to address complex topics in simple terms that are accessible to everyone. The idiom above about eggs in a basket is a great example: the eggs are your data; the basket is the harddrive in your computer; the risk is to lose all data if that one storage location fails or falls or is stolen, etc.
Industry experts have been advising people for decades to back up data. There was a time when that meant using multiple floppy disks; now it is much easier thanks to the options like those from Seagate.
How much storage do you need?
More than you think, is the short answer. If your data is mostly word files, pdfs, some image, for a small family or small business, then get 500 GB or 1 TB. This amount of storage is available in very small packages these days: like the Ultra Portable prize offered in this contest. Learn more about this prize in this article on the blog.
If you are a gamer and you need storage for huge game files, game downloads, or video files, then you need at least a couple terabytes and this contest has a 4TB prize that will serve your needs. I actually sent this product to Dave Neufeld for a review from a gamers viewpoint, and to Brad Moon for a review from a productivity viewpoint. Dave found that as a gamer, this was the ultimate epicenter of his gaming setup. Brad, however, suggested that you might not get the most from this unless you regularly managed large files, and had a computer capable of capitalizing on the high data transfer rates from the Firecuda.
So think about it: how much storage do you think you really need in your home? That’s the question to answer.
How to enter
Entering is easy but you can only enter once. In a comment below, tell us how much storage you think would be ideal in your home to backup data on your computers. Is 500GB enough or do you need a lot more?
What you can win
At the end of this contest we will draw two winners. One will win the 500GB One Touch SSD and the other will win the 4TB Seagate Firecuda Gaming Dock.
This contest runs from April 1st to April 15th.Â
Remember you can only enter once. However, you probably have a friends or perhaps someone in your family who should backup their data more often. Tell them about the contest so they too have a chance to win.
2TB for all the essential files including pictures leaving lots for future room
500gb really does get used up quickly now. I would probably use the 500gb on something else like my Wii U or a gaming system that I have made some changes to store games. I would for sure use the 4tb on my Xbox One and just download my entire library of games so I don’t have to worry about space or download caps.
4Tb would be great
I would use the new memory to speed up my older computer and so I can save more items withe expansion of the memory.
If my video editing takes off like I hope, I’ll definitely need more than 500GB.
2TB for all the essential files, plus 2TB for future room
Definitely 4TB would be good enough for our home network!
I dont need much, but the comfort of a 4 TB drive sounds great.
4 TB would be great.-should hold everything that I will ever download..
I think 8 TB would be enough for all my backups.
Having experienced the pain of losing data (through stolen and failed devices) I know how important it is to back up your data…and yet I still don’t do it as often as I should. I need extra data protection so backing up to a separate device would be ideal. The 4TB would be perfect for my needs. Thanks!
4TB would work for me
500GB is definitely not enough. The 4TB might cut it though!
There isn’t too much space, is it?
1 TB for OS and 4 TB for storage (including backups) would be nice.
I hate the feeling when I have to delete data that I haven’t used in a long time (docs, spreadsheets, pictures or videos), but you know that few weeks after, you could need it.
4 TB would be ideal for backups, photo and videos
I would like to have 2T storage for all my photos, videos, etc.
The 4TB might meet our needs. A professional photographer needs a lot of storage space.
Typically I would be looking for at least a terabyte of storage
I need at least 4Tb to backup all my pics and videos! That would be awesome!
I work in media so maybe 8TB or 10TB would be a healthy amount
4TB would be plenty for me. It would be awesome to backup all my graphic design work and my many travel photos.
More is better. But I’ll settle for 8 TB for now.
It would be great to have 4 TB like the FireCuda gaming dock has.
I can fill 1 TB and 4 TB would be ideal for the future backups, photo and videos.
Any amount would be helpful.
I think 4tb would be amazing
4.5 GB would help me out – photos, music, home videos and documents
I think the bigger the better, i think 4tb would be the minimal because i seem to be taking more and more photos and videos.
4TB would be enough for me.
I trust 4TB would be a good start to backup data on our family computers.
1TB would be enough for me. Thanks for the chance!
I’d need at least 8TB.
I think 2TB for all the family photos and videos we want to store.
I need more than 500GB backup storage – at least 40 years of photos, 8 computers, multitude of family videos, and now files for working remotely from home.
I dont use much of my computer so 1TB is enough
I need that amount
At least 4TB!
4TB
I think I’d need a 4TB for everything at home
Can you ever have too much space? So 4TB for me!
1TB would be more then enough for us
8TB
1 TB is more than enough 🙂
I think 1 TB would back up everything for me.
There can never be “enough” storage 🙂
Although, I will say 4TB will suffice for now.
I’m pretty sure 500 GB is more than enough.
4 TB would be great.-should hold everything that I will ever download..
I think 4TB is ideal as I have tons of photos and videos that need backup.
Already have 2 Seagate 1tb filled up and almost a 3rd filled. 4tb would be optimal but 500gb would definitely help
I think 4TB would be a good start to backup data on my computers.
