Toronto Raptors forward and fan favourite, Amir Johnson loves having fun with his fans on and off the court. I personally had the opportunity to see him at his finest off the hardwood and out of uniform with the team at Geek Squad. This isn’t the first time we’ve worked with Amir. In fact, the fans of Amir out there may recall the video taken from inside his home to show the latest in home automation last fall. You can see how Geek Squad powered up his home by watching the video on YouTube here.
In wake of the opening playoffs tip-off today between the Toronto Raptors and the Washington Wizards, Best Buy Canada recently shared the ultimate dash cam prank video starring Amir Johnson and unsuspecting Torontonians.
With his friends at Geek Squad and a Toronto-based Best Buy store, Amir outfitted his Range Rover SUV with a front- and rear-facing Thinkware X500 dash cam system to document the fun during the prank, as well as to keep safe and “always on” when driving the city streets and highways.
Best Buy and Geek Squad representatives felt the Thinkware X500 was perfect for Amir’s SUV based on the following key features of the cameras:
- High def: Both the front and rear cameras are all full HD – which translate well when creating a HD video for YouTube
- Captures 30 frames per second (fps)
- Perfect display: offers a 2.7” clear display screen
- Road safety warning system
- Safety camera alert
- Built-in GPS
Aside from the technology features above and outside pulling a prank, the dash cam can act as a reliable eye witness in case of an accident and be critical evidence in the courtroom, or in Amir’s case, a hilarious prank.
So on with the video. Check out the laughs Amir, Best Buy and Geek Squad generated using Thinkware dash cam system:

He’s called “Tall Money” for a reason: I look short when standing next to Amir Johnson.
