Thinkware dash cam contest at Best buyThinkware dash cams make driving safer for everyone. For most of us, driving is the riskiest thing we do every day. There are few things we can do to protect our loved ones who must take to the roads, for short or long drives, commuting, or even just shopping. Properly maintained vehicles is a basic necessity. Thinkware dash cams provide “next level” protection. Enter this contest and you might win either a Thinkware Q1000 or Thinkware X800 dash cam.

Should all cars come standard with a Thinkware dash cam

Seatbelts were legislated in Canada all the way back in the 1970s. Wearing a seatbelt is so commonplace, many of us can’t imagine driving without using one. Similarly, back up cameras are found in most vehicles now and not having one seems, well, just wrong. Both seatbelts and backup cameras met with resistance upon their introduction. Many people just didn’t want to put on a seatbelt. Similarly, some people felt that a back up camera was simply a crutch, ensuring that drivers didn’t learn proper technique when backing up. Yet here we are, in a better place with both technologies in use for the betterment of drivers everywhere. Driving is safer with seatbelt and backup camera tech.

I contend that dash cams are another tech that drivers and cars are safer with rather than without. And Thinkware dash cams come with a host of features to protect drivers and car owners. Once you have one, you don’t want to be without one again.

Thinkware dash cams do much more than just record the road ahead

In the movie “Next,” Nic Cage is able to protect people in danger with his gift to see a couple minutes into the future. A Thinkware dash cam is kind of doing that by capturing where your car will be in the near future. When things go wrong on the road, having that footage can make a huge difference in your life. It shows how other people reacted to a novel situation. Our memories are fallible; in moments of excitement our brains can mix up timelines, and even “remember” incorrectly. Dash cam evidence presented to the police or even to a judge (if a dispute gets that far) is indisputable.

There is a lot of information coming from a Thinkware dash cam and you can track it all in the app. This includes remote viewing of the cameras, GPS/speed detection, crash detection, impact detection while parked, and more. Imagine if your spouse is commuting to work … you can follow their progress and know if they get stopped for some reason. I was recently at a concert and my truck was broken into … I wish I had a dash cam to alert me!

  3. I do not have one, but my son thinks I should get one for my car (he has one).
I have heard of people being followed around, so it might be useful to identify the vehicle if you wanted to report it to police.

  4. I don’t have one … yet.
I have had two near misses where another vehicle made a quick lane change and almost hit me, so I think one would be useful if an accident occurred.

  5. Years ago i got a dash cam as a gift for my birthday but i have no installed it in my car. Every week I want to install it but i don’t. I’ve seen quite a bit of dash cam footage and I think it’s so important to have because there’s so much crazy stuff that happens. I also had someone run a red light and hit my car and the person behin me had a dash cam in their vehicle. I was definitely grateful that they provided the video to me and the police.

  6. We don’t have a dash cam but I think it would be great to have in case of an accident to prove wrongdoing.

  7. I don’t currently have a dashcam, but I think the best single feature is piece of mind knowing you have an impartial record of what happens.

  8. I do not have a dash cam in my car but it would be very useful to see what happens to your car when it is unattended in a parking lot. I have been hit more than once.

  9. We do not have a dashcam yet, but are serioucly considering getting one. The way drivers are racing down the highway is scary and it would be nice to be able to prove my position in an accident should one happen

  10. My son keeps telling me that I should get a dash cam as he is concerned for me when I am out and about, just in case I was involved in an accident. I have seen great things from dash cams in the news, such as catching drunk drivers on cameras, and recording accidents that happen in front of the driver. Therefore I would like to have one for my safety in case I came across an accident or was involved in one I would be able to have proof of what really happened.

  11. I don’t have a dashcam due to the cost of night quality. It always seems like a risk to buy one without fear of getting ripped off.

  12. I do not have a dash cam in my vehicle; I think the automatic video recording make it an important tool for drivers when an accident happens.

  13. I don’t have a dash cam but it’s an important tool to provide safety to owners or drivers with dash cam evidence if required.

  14. I currently don’t have a dashcam but it would definitely be good to have one in case of an accident and also for impact detection when parked.

  15. I don’t currently own a dash cam, but it might come in handy if I ever have to defend myself in traffic court!

  16. I don’t have a dash cam but I think it would be great to have in case you need to keep your eyes on the road but know that there is something going on that you should be aware of, that way you could review it when safe to do so.

  17. Don’t have one but I it would be fantastic to get one and see where I’ve been.
Imagine what you miss speeding along the highway… wildlife, weird landscapes… BIGFOOT !!!
    NEED THIS !
