Cleaning my house became so much easier since I upgraded to a stick vacuum this spring. I never pull out a broom when I have my trusted Dyson V11 cordless stick vacuum hanging on the wall nearby. It has more than enough power, battery life, and space in the dust canister to take on my small home.
But what if your home is a bit larger, you’d like a longer clean time between charging, or you’d like your stick vacuum to pick up more with every swipe? The Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum is for you.
I’ve been vacuuming with the Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum for a week and I love it. It’s a super-sized version of my own Dyson V11 stick vacuum and has all the same great features, but it has a 150% bigger dust canister, 25% larger high-torque cleaner head, and 2 batteries so you can swap them out and keep cleaning for up to 120 minutes.
Appearance and features of the Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum
The Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum is a 3-speed stick vacuum with a built-in HEPA filter. It weighs 3.56 kg (7.84 lbs) so it’s very lightweight despite its size and power.

Testing the Dyson V11 Outsize stick vacuum
It is always amazing to test out a Dyson product, and after testing out the standard-sized Dyson V11 stick vacuum I had to buy one for myself. I’ve been using it for several months and I’ve loved the battery life, easy charging, and how effortlessly it cleans up my house from top to bottom.
With the Dyson V11 Outsize, you get everything that’s great about the Dyson V11, all wrapped up in a super-sized package.
The Dyson V11 Outsize is the stick vacuum that intelligently cleans
If you’ve been thinking about upgrading to a stick vacuum but you’re worried about whether they had the suction and power of a standard corded vacuum, the Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum will put those fears to rest.
I vacuumed everything from my carpets to hard floors to sucking up dust from my rafters and the Dyson V11 Outsize consistently maintained steady suction and had power to spare. It picked up everything from dirt, dust, pasta, small sticks, and even a few pieces of lego. Whatever I pushed the ultra-wide cleaner head over, it picked up.
Out of the 3 cleaning modes I relied on Auto the most, but the Dyson V11 Outsize will also monitor whatever you’re cleaning and adjust the mode to take on what’s in front of it. If I switched from hard floor to my very dusty entryway carpet, the cleaner head would take a second and then automatically switch from Eco to Auto.
Boost will pick up everything in its path, and you may want to use it all the time. You can switch modes yourself by tapping the button under the LCD screen on the vacuum. You’ll just have to keep in mind that the battery life will be less in Boost mode than in Auto or Eco. I rarely switch to Eco unless I’ve been cleaning for a while and I want to glide over a slightly dusty floor.
Spare battery keeps you cleaning longer
The Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum has 2 batteries and 2 chargers. Unlike the standard Dyson V11, you don’t have to plug the entire cordless stick vacuum into the charger. You can take one of the chargers and thread it through the docking station so you can charge and store your stick vacuum right on the wall, or just take the battery off and plug it into any outlet to have on standby. It takes 4.5 hours to fully charge a dead battery.
Between the 2 batteries, you’ll be able to clean up to 120 minutes without stopping. I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned for 120 minutes at a time, but I did a big clean to test the battery life on this vacuum. I had it run on Eco mode unless it switched to Auto mode, and I ran it for 50 minutes before it said I had 2 minutes of battery life left. I cleaned all the floors, my rafters and light fixtures, and the interior of my car.
Even when the battery is almost dead, you don’t lose suction on this stick vacuum. It keeps picking up everything in its path.
Larger torque head cleans up
The Dyson V11 Outsize stick vacuum lives up to the ‘outsize’ name in every way. The 150% bigger dustbin is amazing when you’re cleaning because you don’t have to stop to empty it as often, and I am in love with the wider cleaner head. It’s so large it covers a huge section of my kitchen floor when I’m vacuuming, and that reduces the amount of time I spend cleaning.
Dyson attachments give you flexibility
There are several attachments included with the Dyson V11 Outsize stick vacuum that make it incredibly easy to clean your home. While I love the larger high-torque powerhead, the smaller mini-power head is great for cleaning cars, stairs, and your couch.
You can attach the extension hose when you’re reaching up to clean ceilings, and I used it on my 12-foot ceilings with no problem at all. The flexi-crevice tool is a standard with vacuum cleaners, and it’s a great way to reach into cracks to pick up whatever is hiding.
The docking station holds all of the attachments neatly on the wall, so you can just slide our Dyson V11 Outsize onto the station to store and charge it.
Point and shoot dust bin emptying
When you do have to empty the bin on the Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum, it’s a really easy process. You just remove the stick, pull the lever at the bottom of bin, and it empties into your trash. Occasionally you may have to reach inside to remove a small piece of debris that’s stuck, but generally, the entire contents of the dust bin will empty into your trash bag.
To minimize any flying dust when you empty the bin I recommend holding a plastic bag around it when you open it up. That way you can empty it, tie up the bag, and no dust hits the air at all.
The Dyson V11 Outsize stick vacuum has a whole machine HEPA filtration system. If you live with someone who has dust allergies you know how much sneezing can happen after you vacuum with a standard vacuum. With the Dyson V11 Outsize, the air it expels is cleaner than the air it intakes. It can capture dust, dander, and other microscopic airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. When I used the Dyson V11 Outsize around my dust-allergic husband, he never sneezed once.
When you need to clean the filter you can remove it and give it a rinse. Don’t put the filter back in the vacuum until it’s completely dry. You can also remove and rinse out the dust bin and the flexi-crevice tool.
Outsize your cleanup with the Dyson V11 Outsize stick vacuum
The Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum offers you more of everything you need to clean your home. Compared to the Dyson V11 Absolute, which on its own is a great vacuum, it has a larger dust bin, larger cleaning head, and extra battery to make cleaning faster and more efficient.
While 60 minutes of run time is more than enough for me, that extra battery means you can clean for as long as you like. It’s a lightweight vacuum too, so you can easily lift it into the rafters if you want to grab your dust strings or take it in the car and clean up the floors.
If I hadn’t already bought the Dyson V11 stick vacuum this past spring, I would definitely be bringing home the Dyson V11 Outsize cordless stick vacuum. It’s built for large houses and long clean times.
You can find your own Dyson V11 Outsize stick vacuum on Best Buy right now.
The 150% bigger dust canister is a nice addition in this model
I like it all but the one feature I would want is the high torque cleaner head. That is the one I like the most…without strong cleaning suction power, what is the point?
Cordless and light. Hope the battery lasted touch longer but oh well.
I like the advanced whole-machine HEPA filtration, which expels clean air and captures microscopic airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns.
I like the battery capacity indicator.. no more guess work.
There are many great features about this vacuum but i have personally only used mid tier vacuums so i think the large torque head and how powerful it is would be a life changer!
Some mess is definitely harder to suck up… Like toddler crumbs and flour! I appreciate the 14-cyclone concentric array which creates a centrifugal force so you don’t lose suction.
Cordless and easy to maneuver – gets in tight spaces!
I like the cordless feature.
I like the extra battery so the whole house can get done with no problem.
two batteries! makes big cleaning days much easier
With a daughter who suffers from allergies year round the HEPA filtration system is a Huge selling feature….. The suction is a close second
the feature i like best is the spare battery! i can just keep at it twice as long…
Love all attachments. I could spend a whole day vacuuming everthing in site.
The HEPA filtration system is a wonderful feature. Also, the fact that it is cordless makes for easy cleaning throughout the house.
LCD screen that shows how much battery life is left
The lcd screen that shows how much battery life you have
Love the LCD display!
I appreciate the thoughtful extra battery, and the 25% larger high-torque cleaner head.
whole-machine filtration
The battery life is a huge plus – that it is cordless, is great. But there will be (many) times I forget to charge it, UNTIL I need it. Knowing the battery has my back is appreciated.
I like how it never loses suction because of the 14-cyclone concentric array creates centrifugal force up to 79,000g, trapping fine dust and dirt in the bin.
Battery operated and 120 minutes of runtime on a single charge!
I did not realize that a larger V11 is available–very handy! I love the extra battery especially.
LIGHT
My favourite feature is ‘2 batteries so you can swap them out and keep cleaning for up to 120 minutes.’ It would be so fantastic to win this.
Lightweight and cordless
The long battery life
The oversized dust bin is my favorite feature
Long battery life
The long battery life is my favourite feature.
The feature I like the most is the floor sensing technology, so I can move from carpet to my concrete floors easily.
Another thing that I really like is the power. My current vacuum is not the most powerful, and this would definitely make cleaning easier.
Power and cordless
The HEPA filtration.
It’s all about the extra battery!
what is best for me is that It features whole-machine filtration to trap dust and allergens as small as 0.3 microns since my wife has asthma
Love the system performance monitoring!
I like the HEPA filtration expels clean air and captures microscopic airborne particles
The fact that it’s cordless and powerful!
I like the convertible design so I can tackle different jobs with one tool.
The Dyson V11 Outsize features I like the most are HEPA filter and LCD Alerts!
Power-optimizing technology and battery-saving trigger help deliver up to 120 minutes’ run time in Eco
The fact that it’s cordless with a long battery life looks awesome
As much as I like the extra battery and LCD alerts, the feature I like most is the HEPA filtration.
I love the large cleaning head and the sensing system to detect what’s in front of it that’s so innovative.
Love that is cordless. Need one of this
I like the large dust canister.
I like that it’s cordless, and the spare battery is also nice.
I appreciate the larger format, which results in less emptying, and it sounds like a really easy process to empty the bin!
