While there are quite a few different blenders you can choose from right now, they don’t all perform the same functions in your kitchen. Some are great for smoothies, others for crushing ice, but there aren’t many models that can do that as well as grind spices, make hot soup, or nut butter. That’s why I think, if you need a new blender, the Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Countertop Juicer Mixer Grinder is a great choice.
The Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Countertop Juicer Mixer Grinder includes three solidly built containers, has a powerful motor, and can grind, blend, and mix everything from hot tomato soup to an icy cold smoothie. It also includes an amazing cookbook designed to teach you how to cook Indian cuisine. Here’s what I thought of this versatile countertop blender.
Appearance and features of Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 countertop juicer mixer grinder
The Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Countertop Juicer Mixer Grinder comes with an easy-lock base. It’s designed from stainless steel as are the three included containers. The containers are square-shaped instead of the usual rounded shape you find on blenders, and they feel very sturdy.
- 2.2 peak horsepower motor (1400 watts) crushes everything from spices to hard fruit and vegetables
- Infinite speed control lets you set your speed dial to low, medium, or high for mixing and grinding
- Intelligent speed sensor determines how much power you need and adjusts the speed accordingly
- 13 program settings to blend, juice, or grind wet and dry ingredients
- Universal blades in each bucket handle all types of ingredients
- Safety lock will prevent blades from running when the lid is removed
- Includes three buckets with lids to make all types of dishes
- Includes a recipe booklet with authentic Indian dishes by Chef Kunal Kapur
Testing Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 countertop juicer mixer grinder
I was impressed with this 3-in-1 appliance from the minute I set it up. I love the stainless steel blending jars. While they are very sturdy, they are not heavy. They are also square-shaped, which is new to me. I like how the lids fit very snugly too, but they aren’t so snug they are difficult to remove.
The three jars are sized at 500ml or 0.5-litres, 1-litre, and 1.5-litres. There are individual blades in each bucket so you don’t have to remove them.
Presets and manual controls
I found the controls on this device to be easy to use. The dial lets you adjust the speed if you’d like to, or you can use the presets for mixing wet ingredients, dry ingredients, or to make a dish like soup. I like the calming blue backlight and the fact that the power button is located on the side of the appliance. You can touch the arrows to switch between presets or choose manual operation.
Powerful motor makes grinding easy
To test out the Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Countertop Juicer Mixer Grinder I made a few dishes. For my first test, I used the small container. It’s designed for grinding spices. I was making a crust for a cookie bar that used graham crackers, coconut, and almonds, so I placed the almonds in the small container to grind them into pieces. The menu presets make it easy to select the type of grind you’d like, and the base will automatically detect which bucket you’ve placed on it.
I turned the grinder on and let it attack the almonds. It ran for a minute and I checked its progress. I was pretty surprised to feel the bucket was warm to the touch and the almonds were definitely crushed. I think if I had left them on for another 30 seconds or so they would have been well on their way to becoming almond butter.
I also used the grinder to mix a blend of Christmas spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, whole cloves, and ginger. I usually add these spices to some cookies I like to bake, so I made a good size batch. The Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Countertop Juicer Mixer Grinder blasted through them, grinding the cloves into a powder and mixing everything.
Smoothies with wet and dry ingredients
One of my favourite smoothies uses frozen mango, yogurt, ice, and almonds. It’s the type of smoothie I buy at a local shop instead of blend on my own, so I was excited to try making one using the Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Countertop Juicer Mixer Grinder. I added everything in the medium container bucket and turned it to the preset for blending wet ingredients.
In 90 seconds I removed the bucket and took a look. The almond had been crushed into barely noticeable bits, and the smoothie was delicious. When I emptied out the container I didn’t notice any excess bits left behind on the bottom of the bucket, and I was very impressed with how the blender didn’t struggle with the ice or frozen fruit.
Using the included recipe book
I didn’t have the right ingredients to make most of the recipes in the included booklet, but I was so impressed with the variety included and how easy the steps to make them are. If you’ve ever wanted to learn to make Indian cuisine, you would love this recipe book. I really want to try the Chicken Satays, and almost every step except the actual cooking involves the Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Countertop Juicer Mixer Grinder.
Cleaning the Hamilton Beach blending jars
Because they are stainless steel, I wouldn’t put the blending jars in the dishwasher. I hand washed them and dried them as soon as I pulled them from the water. I didn’t have any leftover water spots, but I made sure to buff them until they were completely dry. The base unit wipes down easily with a damp cloth.
Should you choose the Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 countertop juicer mixer grinder?
You can’t go wrong with a blender that puts 3 appliances in one. I loved the grinder, and after using it to grind spices I’m sure it could take on everything from coffee beans to hard nuts. While I didn’t test it out making soup, I’m confident it would heat soup perfectly given how quickly it was warming up while grinding my almonds, and given how powerful it is I think it would be a great help in making homemade dips and other dishes.
The cookbook is really an added bonus, and it makes me want to stock up on the right ingredients to make a few Indian dishes over the holidays. Clean up is easy too, and the stainless steel design is sleek and looks great on the counter.
I’d choose this 3-in-1 blender just for how powerfully it can handle hard and wet ingredients at one time, and I loved how it whipped up my favourite frozen smoothie. Who needs to go out when you have an appliance that can make these drinks at home?
