LG appliances CES 2018If you’re a fan of LG appliances, you’re going to love what’s been coming out of CES 2018 this year. The company announced at its CES 2018 press conference that they’ve added their AI platform to all of LG appliances.

Here’s a look at what was just announced for LG appliances.

LG SmartThinQ

LG-SmartThinQAppliances are all about fulfilling a need. You need to keep your food cold or frozen, and a refrigerator can do that. You need to have clean clothes, so you use a washing machine and dryer. LG understands that you need your appliances to perform certain actions, but they’ve gone beyond just simple actions by giving your appliances the ability to learn your habits and communicate with each other.

It’s called LG SmartThinQ™ technology. In a nutshell, your LG appliances will now be able to ‘deep learn’ how you and your house works. One example I read online detailed how, if you have a gym workout scheduled on your calendar, your washing machine will prep the gym clothes setting so it’s ready to wash your gym clothes when you get home.

All of the LG SmartThinQ appliances will be controlled by voice commands, there’s integration with the Google Assistant and other home platforms, and they can even self-diagnose their own issues. According to LG, the AI can pick out issues you might have before they even happen, and it can relay that information to a call center to set you up for a repair.

LG is also launching a home robot called CLOi that connects your smart home and responds to commands.

LG Smart InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator

LG ThinQ refrigeratorOne of the best implementations of LG SmartThinQ comes in the form of the LG Smart InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator. There are a few models of this amazing refrigerator, but both come with an LCD touchscreen right on the door, and you can keep track of what’s in your fridge, follow recipes, or play music right.

Tap the screen twice and you’ll see inside your fridge without ever opening the door. Feeling like you need a little company? You can chat with your refrigerator, and your assistant can make you a grocery list or help you out while cooking a new recipe.

LG Top Load Washer and Dryer Pair

LG appliances You’ll never look at laundry the same way. LG has added SmartThinQ to their latest top load washer and dryer, and you’ll be able to control both from your phone or tablet.

There’s more space thanks to a design with an extra cubic foot of capacity, and there are new cycles including one for active wear. You can wash in as little as 30 minutes, and you can also add the LG SideKick pedestal washer and enjoy washing two loads at the same time.

LG Signature Dishwasher

LG ThinkQ appliancesDid you forget to turn on your dishwasher before you left? That’s no problem with the LG Signature dishwasher. It’s a SteamClean dishwasher you can control remotely, so you’ll be able to choose a cycle and run it even when you aren’t at home.

There’s also self-diagnostics on this dishwasher, so if something is wrong, you’ll know right away what it is.

It’s really exciting to see what LG is bringing to home appliances this year. If you want to see LG SmartThinQ in action, keep checking Bestbuy.ca for LG appliances or visit a Best Buy location near you.
