What is Xbox Series S?

Xbox Series S is one of two next-generation video game consoles from Xbox. The Xbox Series S is an all digital console that shares the same core capabilities of its bigger brother, the Xbox Series X.

The Xbox Series S is Microsoft’s smallest console, 60% smaller than Xbox Series X. And, the Xbox Series S uses the same high-speed SSD to reduce loading times.

It plays the same games as Xbox Series X and plays backwards compatible games from all Xbox consoles

The Xbox Series S plays all of the same games as the Xbox Series X. The games on Xbox Series S run at resolutions from 1080p to 1440p. And, frame rates from 60 frames-per-second all the way up to 120 frames-per-second.

Additionally, the Xbox Series S is fully backwards compatible with all previous Xbox video game consoles and Xbox One accessories. And, these backwards compatible games will see improved texture filtering, higher and more consistent frame rates, faster loading times and auto HDR.

How does it compare to Xbox Series X

There are several differences when it comes to Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. First, the Xbox Series S can play games at 1440p 60 FPS up to 120 FPS and games can be upscaled to 4K, the Xbox Series X can play games at 4K 120 FPS all the way up to 8K 30 FPS.

Second, the Xbox Series S is an all digital console and the Xbox Series X has a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive for physical discs. Next, the Xbox Series S comes with 512GB of storage and the Xbox Series X comes with 1TB.

Finally, the Xbox Series S sells for $379.99 and the Xbox Series X sells for $599.99.
