The fan favourite Mana series is making a return with Visions of Mana, a brand-new action RPG set to launch on August 29th, 2024. Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PC, this vibrant and expansive adventure promises to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
The story of Visions of Mana centers around Val, a young man from the Fire Village of Tianeea. Every four years, the Faerie visits various regions to choose “alms”—people destined to travel to the Tree of Mana. When Val’s childhood friend Hinna is selected as the Alm of Fire, he sets out to accompany her on this life-changing journey.

Exploring the world of Mana
I’m excited and can’t wait to explore the world of Mana. Acording to Square Enix, Visions of Mana is an expansive, semi-open world adventure. The game allows you to freely explore the beautiful, diverse, and expansive environments. From lush forests to towering mountains, Visions of Mana is full of secrets to uncover and enemies to battle.
Traversal is a key part of Visions of Mana and you will able to use a variety of different ways to travel the world around you. Summoning companions like the Pikul and Flammie is one way of getting around, with Pikul being one of the most unique companions in the game. Pikul are adorable, creature-like mounts that allow you to quickly travel and also fight enemies that are in your way.
On the other hand, for traversing the skies, you can summon the legendary Flammie. These sacred beasts can fly you and your party across the world map. Mastering the game’s various traversal abilities, such as jumping, dashing, and using the powers of the Elemental Vessels are essential. They will allow you to access new areas and uncover even more secrets hidden throughout the world.
A promise of exciting and engaging gameplay
From what I have seen and read, Visions of Mana’s gameplay is going to be really exciting. At the heart of the game’s gameplay are the Elemental Vessels—mystical artifacts that house the power of the elements. When you equip the Elemental Vessels, you can unlock new classes for your party members, each with unique abilities and playstyles.
Another exciting aspect of gameplay is the Elemental Plots system. It further enhances customization, allowing you to deepen your characters’ affinities with specific elements. As you progress through these plots, you’ll gain access to powerful new skills and attacks to use in battle.
Dynamic and engaging combat
Visions of Mana uses a real-time, party-based combat system and it looks to be both thrilling and strategically deep. In order to be victorious, you’ll need to carefully observe your enemies and the world around you.
The return of the series’ iconic Ring Menu allows you to pause the action and plan your next moves. You’ll also be able to freely swap between party members on the fly, which adds an extra layer of tactical depth.
Visions of Mana launches on August 29th, 2024

They will no doubt deliver an unforgettable adventure, and I can’t wait to play it. From what I can see, Visions of Mana is shaping up to be a must-play game this summer.
