By my count there are nearly fifty video games releasing this month—including many of the biggest games of the year like Halo 5, Rock Band 4, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and Yoshi’s Woolly World. There is so much gaming excitement this month it’s hard to know where to start!
As hard as it was, I took this monumental list of new games and chose the top 8 I’m looking forward to this month. I had to make some tough decisions, let me know what you think!

Rock Band 4
Release Date: October 6, 2015

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below

Enter the kingdom of Arba as either the hero Luceus or the heroine Aurora, along with an all-star cast of fan favourite characters like Yangus, Jessica, Bianca, or even Healix the healslime!
Yoshi’s Woolly World

From the developers of Kirby’s Epic Yarn comes another fabric-inspired adventure with Yoshi’s Woolly World. Jump into an adorable world constructed with knitted yarn, including the backgrounds, items, and even Yoshi himself! The game features two-player co-operative action, so grab and friend or family member and have a blast gobbling up enemies and solving puzzles together. Yoshi’s Woolly World is also compatible with amiibo figures, including the cute new knitted Yarn Yoshi amiibo (which activates a “Double Yoshi”), as well as Mario, Peach, and Donkey Kong (which changes Yoshi’s costume).
Guitar Hero Live

It’s been five years since the last Guitar Hero game, but now the king of gaming rock and roll has been reborn! Featuring an all-new 6-button guitar controller, arranged in two rows of three buttons, Guitar Hero Live will be more accessible for newcomers, and offer a greater challenge for veteran guitarists. Activision says that there will be “hundreds of songs available on day one,” including hits from artists like Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, along with hundreds more available through the new, free Guitar Hero TV (GHTV) service.
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate

Halo 5: Guardians

WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin graces the cover of WWE 2K16, and he’ll be joined by over 120 wrestler in this year’s edition. The huge roster includes long-time favourites such as John Cena, Triple H, Daniel Bryans, and Randy Orton, along with the debut of many NXT stars like Hideo Itami, Tyler Breeze, and Aiden English. Classic match types such as Hell in a Cell, Triple Threat, and Fatal Four-Way are included, along with the return of Ladder, handicap and tornado tag matches. Time to see who is king of the mat!
