The Winters’ Expansion adds new content
Those yearning for dark shadows in the Resident Evil universe won’t have to wait too much longer. Recently, Capcom announced the highly anticipated DLC for Resident Evil Village titled The Winters’ Expansion. The DLC is set to arrive digitally on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia on October 28, 2022.
The Winters’ Expansion is full of new content including a Third-Person Mode for the campaign, The Mercenaries Additional Orders featuring new stages and playable characters Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu; and a continuation of the story in Shadows of Rose.
Set 16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village, this new tale follows Rose Winters, the daughter of main protagonist Ethan, as she struggles with her terrifying powers. Players must explore and survive a warped and mysterious realm inside the consciousness of the Megamycete in search of a cure.
An all-in-one bundle, Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which includes the main game and the Winters’ Expansion will also launch on October 28, 2022 in physical and digital formats for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
Resident Evil Re:Verse launching alongside The Winters’ Expansion
In addition to the launch of The Winters’ Expansion, Resident Evil Re:Verse a separate multiplayer experience will be available the same day free to Resident Evil Village owners.
Originally set to launch in 2021, Re:Verse features Resident Evil characters who clash in a fight to the death in six-person deathmatch battles. In order to be successful, you’ll need to master the skills of the heroes and bioweapons alike.

Resident Evil fans won’t have to wait much longer, Resident Evil The Winters’ Expansion is launching on October 20, 2022. From everything thing I seen about this brand new expansion, it looks like it will be well worth the wait. I’m excited to dive back in playing with the new third-person mode and can’t wait for the story to unravel in Shadows of Rose.
