Earlier this month we gave away some of the top laptops of the year. Now we are giving away two of the top televisions. Learn about the new Samsung TVs, then enter for a chance to win.

Why you should be looking at Samsung TVs in 2023

Have you looked at the range of TVs on display at a Best Buy store these days? I have. Impressive. Almost all of them are LED TVs, though there are a range of types of LED TVs. In the store your eyes will first be drawn to the stunning Samsung Frame TVs. We gave one of these away earlier this year on the blog. Then you’ll look at some of the other types of LEDs and, if you are like most people, you’ll be confused by the terms: OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED. All three are great. All three do some things better than other things. For example, OLEDs have the best blacks thanks to individual self-lighting pixels. QLED has the best brightness (great for bright rooms) thanks to the backlighting. Neo QLEDs are the best combination thanks to their arrays of mini-LED backlighting. Samsung QLED and Neo QLEDs have other advantages too including lower costs.

Why do you want a new TV this fall

Each year, the fall season seems to usher in not just pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, but also a surge in people bringing home new TV sets. Here are the top two reasons why:

1. New models and clearance sales

Television manufacturers often release new models in the spring and summer so by fall, these new releases have had time to be reviewed so you know which ones to buy. This not only help you make more informed decisions but also puts pressure on retailers to clear out older inventory to make room for the next generation of models. So whether you are looking for the best new TVs or last year’s models at significant savings, this is the best time of year.

2. Ready for holiday entertainment and sports events

The fall season is a precursor to major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, all of which are synonymous with family gatherings and home entertainment. People anticipate needing a better or bigger TV to host movie marathons, special broadcasts, and, of course, holiday specials. Additionally, fall is a significant season for sports with the NFL, NBA, and NHL seasons bringing excitement into our homes. The lure of watching big games and key matchups on a shiny new screen can be hard to resist.

Fall is a perfect storm of incentives; it’s the season not just for falling leaves but also for finding the perfect new TV for your home on television sets. And it’s the perfect time for us to have a contest giving two of the newest and best TVs away.

Entering this contest is easy and you can in three different ways (once per method):

  3. In a comment beneath Shelly’s review of the QN90C, tell us how many hours of TV get watched in your home, and one thing that you learned about this television from Shelly’s review.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we will randomly draw two winners. One will receive the Samsung QN90C TV that Shelly reviewed and the other will receive the Samsung Q70C TV that Shelly reviewed.

This contest runs from Sept 15th to Oct 1st.

  1. I’d like a new TV because my old TV is only a 29″ tube TV and I recently got Bell fibre and my TV is not smart so I can’t take advantage of the fibre. I am looking forward to seeing the last season of Yellowstone, I usually have to wait until it’s n DVD. I’d also like to see Survivor on a big screen.

  26. I learned from Shelly’s review of QN90C that it has Object Tracking Sound technology so fill the room without use of a soundbar or system. We watch about 20 hours of TV in our house each week.

  27. I learned from Shelly’s review of Q70C that you can access Samsung Gaming Hub without having to connect the console. My ideal size for a TV would be about 55″

I would also like to try out my new PS5 which is on order right now! I think the faster, refresh rates would definitely help! And the colour saturation on these new panels sound really good

  39. First and foremost, my old 55 inches 3D Sony is now 10 years old and even if it looks sharp 1080P is not cutting edge. Second, since I’ve pretty much changed all the furniture in my living room, the tv shall be replaced sooner or later. My 2 favorite shows this fall, Hockey Night in Canada on CBC and The Walking Dead : Daryl Dixon.

  48. I only have a 40 inch TV in the basement. It is not a smart TV. Once I have a larger TV in the basement, I would be able to rearrange the furniture in a way to make it possible to sit near the gas fireplace in the winter and get cozy to watch TV. The shows I look forward to watching are The Good Doctor and The Rookie.
