Remote controlled planes and helicopters have been around for many years but they never caused the frenzy that we have seen with drones. They have invaded our psyche and become a part of our culture. This is the year that drones have emerged as a cultural phenomenon. I am currently reading Dickens’ Bleak House, an amazing story that includes many references to 19th century culture. For example, on page 344 Dickens includes in his descriptions of the Smallweed family, a family that is basically born adult, presumably skipping childhood and childish things, numerous childish games and toys that were popular in his day:

“… her twin brother couldn’t wind up a top for his life. He knows no more of Jack the Giant Killer or of Sinbad the Sailor than he knows of the people in the stars. He could as soon play at leap-frog or at cricket as change into a cricket or a frog himself.”

  17. I would love the DJI Phantom 4 4k. Anything that would avoid hitting something is for me as I am not always the best driver.

  30. My favorite feature belongs to the DJI Phantom 3, specifically that it flies the slowest of the three, would many people agree?
    At 57.6km/h it’s the slowest in a race, and perhaps the least desired in this case.
    But to me it would be a treasure, one you couldn’t measure.
    Like an old book that takes us on an adventure.

  38. The idea of 4 propellers is amazing, when drones first arose they were only equipped with two or three propellers and they were not as stable for light. Drones have come such a long way, wifi, cams and more, it is incredible. Technology has come such a long way, what would Tesla think?

  39. The feature I like most about these drones is the fly time and the camera, as well as the fact that the one is lightweight and foldable which is an added feature as well.

  44. I love everything about the DJI Phantom 4 4K but I am most excited about it being able to take 4k video or full HD at 120 fps.

  49. The portability of the new DJI Mavic is amazing, all without compromising video quality! Definitely on my holiday wishlist 🙂
