Corsair 4000D Airflow

When building a new PC, choosing the right case is a key factor. Keeping your components safe and cool is the primary goal of course. That said, most PC builders look for style and aesthetics as well. A PC case does inform how you “present” your overall build after all. For my latest PC building project, I’m testing out the Corsair 4000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case.

Excellent airflow and plenty of space

My latest PC build is a pretty hefty project indeed. I’m planning on incorporating some pretty large and powerful components. These include a 10th generation Intel I9 processor, a chunky 1000 watt PSU, and of course my cornerstone component—a massive EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 GPU.

These parts are going to call for some serious solutions for both cooling and space. Luckily the Corsair 4000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case covers all bases. Frankly, I originally had a much more expensive tower in mind. However, I am really happy to discover that the Corsair 4000D has everything I’m looking at a very reasonable price.

The tower itself easily fits all the components I am throwing at it. This is a pretty notable feat considering the incredible heft of the RTX 3090 graphics card alone. Nevertheless I can easily accommodate the card in this tower with plenty of clearance for other parts.

Removing the 2.5-3.5 mechanical HD caddy is a simple task as well. I’m glad this is the case because I definitely have no intentions of using older hard drives like these. Removing the caddy however makes plenty of extra room for cable management. It also makes installing the PSU cables a much easier task.

Keeping your cool with the Corsair 4000D airflow

Of course, just fitting all the parts in a build nicely is only half the battle. Keeping the temperature down is arguably the most important factor. This is especially true with a high-end gaming build like mine.

The Corsair 4000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case definitely meets all my expectations on this front. It has tons of perforation across the front, top and rear, complete with dust filters. I also love the fact that it has a perforated space on the bottom as well. This allows me to mount my PSU with the fan facing downward, blasting even more hot air away from the tower.

I also really appreciate that the case is long enough for me to mount my three fan radiator on the front. The length of the gargantuan RTX 3090 left me wondering if it would be possible to fit the radiator in front. However, the Corsair 4000D let me clear it with over an inch to spare.

On top of this I also have room for an additional three fans in my build. As such I am mounting two on top and one in the rear of the case—all for exhaust. In the end, the Corsair 4000D easily handles my configuration of a front-mounted radiator with three intake fans and an additional three fans on the top/rear for exhaust.

Low temperatures on high settings

After spending some significant time with my build, I’m very happy with the results. First off, I’m always able to maintain a steady internal temperature while my PC is idle or performing light tasks. I keep a temperature monitor up on one of my screens at all times, and it never exceeds a healthy ~30-35 degrees celsius.

Of course more intense processes are inevitably going to result in higher temperatures. This PC is bound to test those limits. The real verdict on the Corsair 4000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case will come with its performance during resource-heavy gaming action.

Once again, the Corsair 4000D meets expectations admirably. I continue to test my rig on the latest and greatest in PC gaming, with settings always to the max. Again and again, this PC case helps keep things at a reasonable level of cool.

Keeping an eye on my trusty temperature gauge, I boot up game after game. Recently, I played Cyberpunk 2077 on maximum settings—including full ray-tracing. If anything set my internal tower temperature skyrocketing, I would expect it might be this. Nevertheless, I didn’t even manage to get an internal temperature reading exceeding the 50 – 60 range in degrees celcius.

Build in style with tempered glass and great cable management

The Corsair 4000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case clearly appeals to those looking to show off their PC build. The case itself looks great, with a pleasing pattern to the airflow perforations. It also looks great in both black (which I am using) or white, depending on the visual scheme of your build.

The tempered glass panel is solid, easy to remove, and looks fantastic. At first I did wonder if the dark tint would be too much. However I was quickly proven wrong once I hit power for the first time. Once the RGB lighting of my components engaged, the build became a gorgeous spectacle perfectly framed by the Corsair 4000D and its tempered glass.

If you are looking for a build with less internal lighting, but still wish to see your components, you may wish to opt for something with less tint. Many builders focus on creating PC’s with dazzling lights and RGB patterns though, and this tower is perfect for showing off your creativity.

The opposite panel removes just as easily. Here there is plenty of space for cable management, making it even easier to keep your build clean and looking great with optimal organization. The Corsair 4000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case even includes some handy velcro straps to keep those cords and wires under control.

The Corsair 4000D airflow mid-tower PC case offers stylish design and impressive cooling

All-in-all I’m very happy with the way the Corsair 4000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case incorporates into my latest build. This was an important one to be sure, with the cornerstone RTX 3090 GPU component being the most powerful graphic card I’ve ever laid my hands on.

For such a massive undertaking I did not want to compromise on a tower that wouldn’t both show off these incredible components, and also help keep them cool under heavy workloads. The Corsair 4000D does all this and more, and at a much lower asking price than many other towers I looked at for my build.
