Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is the world’s biggest event for mobile technology. Want to know what smartphones will be the “must have” devices this year? Look to the MWC 2015 reveals to find out. Monday was officially the first day of the conference (it runs until March 5), but there were some major media events on Sunday, too. Here’s what you need to know after the first full day of Mobile World Congress.

LG looks to stand out with the G7, which sports a familiar look, but strives to offer something new in how you use the phone.

It might seem a little far-fetched when thinking of a smartphone attached to an object of considerable size, like a DSLR camera lens or even a pair of binoculars. Products like that are out there, amplifying the focal length of the phone’s camera, and thereby changing the very scope (pun intended) of images it can capture. Carson doesn’t have a DSLR lens, but it does make monoculars and binoculars with adapters for the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy devices.

Samsung made its annual splash today on the eve of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, unveiling the new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones. Despite some differences in design, both devices have many of the same components and features, maintaining a high level of consistency between them. In addition to the new duo, the company also announced the Gear 360, a standalone camera that shoots 360-degree photos and video.

Apple showcased a new batch of products led by its latest iPhone 14 models, including new Apple Watches and new pair of AirPods Pro.

IFA 2014 was the location for yet more high tech announcements as Sony got in the game. Among the new products from Sony are the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact (billed as the world’s slimmest and lightest compact tablet), new smartphones led by the new Xperia Z3 flagship, a new Android Wear-powered Smartwatch 3 and the SmartBand Talk fitness tracker.
