I’m excited and grateful to Best Buy and Casio for asking me to cover NAMM for the second time! I’ve been keeping tabs on all the rumours and sneak-peaks that have been popping up and it looks as though there are going to be a lot of interesting things to see and experience this year. The NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show is the biggest annual showcase of musical technology and innovation. This year’s show runs from January 22nd to January 25th. Best Buy and Casio have sent two writers to Anaheim to bring you articles, photos and videos of the excitement. This post will be updated throughout the show with links to all of our coverage.

Now that CES 2015 is wrapping up, it is worthwhile taking a step back and see where the various TV makers are headed in 2015. Although 4K Ultra HD is the main theme, each manufacturer seems to have taken quite a different spin on how they are delivering 4K. And there are many more new buzzwords and new technologies to figure out. Here is a summary of what happened at CES with TVs.
CES 2015: Your PC is getting some new curves, USB Type-C...
The cool gear coming out of the Consumer Electronics Show continues, including the latest trend in desktop PCs: curves! I don’t mean the case, manufacturers are taking what they’ve learned with those curved Ultra HD TVs and are applying the same treatment to PC displays. The latest USB standard (more interesting than it sounds) is also being shown off, iPhone 6 case choices are ramping up and Nabi is offering new wall-mounted kids tablets that are probably bigger than your TV.

CES 2015: Sharp Takes a Big Step Beyond 4K with 8K
What has been clear at CES 2015 is that 4K Ultra High Definition is going mainstream with all the brands. Everyone seems to be introducing more 4K sets than 1080p HD and are making 4K that much more affordable. Everyone always tries to out-do each other at CES, and Sharp’s one-upmanship is not based on another unique approach to 4K technology. Instead they want to leap-frog everyone else by bringing in 8K technology.

CES 2015 is well underway, and as is the norm for the biggest gadget show of the year, there’s been more than a few surprises popping up on the floor. I’m on red alert for anything exciting as far as appliances go, and I’ve got a few amazing innovations to share.
