Everyone needs a great blender in the kitchen. I think we can all agree how awesome blenders technology has become. Blenders used to be limited to adjustable settings for faster or slower blending. Things have changed a lot! The Ninja Chef DUO 1500-Watt Blender has Auto-iQ technology to enable one-touch blending of your favourite recipes. In addition it has a clean program that helps removed food residue from beneath the blades. Best of all: Best Buy is giving away 3 of these great blenders in this contest!

You will be blown away by the features of the Ninja Chef DUO. One of my pet-peeves with older blenders was the small jar: I could never make enough in one batch for my two children and myself. Problem solved since the Ninja has a huge 72 oz. blender pitcher. Okay, perhaps you don’t always need something big. Like if you’re creating your personal favourite smoothie—you don’t want to use a huge blender for that. Problem solved: the Ninja comes with a 24oz. slim high-speed blender cup.

What will you create first if you win a Ninja Blender

If I had the Ninja blender, I’d whip up a banana-strawberry smoothie like I used to when my kids were little, with one or two fresh banana and a cup of strawberries I had frozen in advance. My daughter loved this with a splash of milk back then, but now that she is vegan I would substitute cashew milk.

What is your favourite smoothie recipe? Perhaps you like to keep things simple like me, or do you like to experiment and mix it up?

  1. If I won the Ninja blender, the first smoothie I’d make would include:
Yogurt 1c, skim milk 1/2c or so, frozen berry mix 1c, half a banana, half an apple (cored and peeled), 1/2 tsp vanilla, pinch cinnamon, 4 ice cubes.
Add more fruit or yogurt to obtain desired consistency.
This is enough to share…so grab a friend! My parrot Teekee loves it!

  3. The best recipe for me is
2 cups Whey isolate protein (Vanilla)
    1 cup strawberries
    1 whole banana
    1 handful of ice

This is the best for a quick post workout shake

  4. My favourite smoothy recipe…
    1 pear
    1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    4 ice cubes
    1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

  6. Strawberry Mango Protein Smoothie
    Ingredients
    • Frozen Banana
    • 4 big leaves or 8 small leaves spinach, stems remove
    • 1 teaspoons almond butter
    • ¼ cup frozen Avocado chunks
    • about 8 whole frozen strawberries
    • 1/3 cup frozen mangos
    • 1/2 cup Almond milk
    • Approximately 1/3 cup protein powder (my choice is Vegan Protein Powder)
    Instructions
    1. Add all ingredients to a blender and process for about 30 seconds or a minute.

  7. I love adding 1 frozen banana, 1 cup of diced mangoes (frozen is okay too), 1 cup of yogurt, 1/2 cup of skim milk, and 1 cup of blackberries

  8. My smoothie “recipe” is quite fluid:
1 Tbsp protein powder (chocolate with raspberries and vanilla with any other fruit)
    1 tsp chia seeds
1/2 C almond milk (if using raspberries and chocolate powder) or 1/2 C whatever fruit juice is on hand with all other fruit
1/2 C chopped spinach (fresh or frozen)
If fruit is frozen, no need for ice cubes!

  9. My favourite recipe, which I drink at least 3 times a week is:
1 cup packed spinach or other greens
    5-10 mint leaves
    1 teaspoon matcha powder
    1 scoop protein powder (unflavoured)
    1 tbsp hemp seeds
    1 tbsp chia seeds
    1/2 cup frozen mango

    coconut milk
ice to blend if using fresh banana

  12. If I had the Ninja blender, I would blend up my favourite smoothie recipe which I make at least 3 times a week with my 7 year old magic bullet which needs to be replaced desperately – ha!

    I mix:

    1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
    handful of spinach
    handful of kale
    1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
a few sprigs of fresh mint
    ice
    🙂

  15. Strawberry Banana Smoothie:
    3/4 cup orange juice
    3/4 cup vanilla yogurt
    1 cup sliced frozen strawberries
    1/2 frozen banana
    Blend and enjoy!

  16. Iogo vanilla yogurt
    raspberries
    mango
Valley Flax’s Shake and Smoothie Booster (cranberry/blueberry/flax) blend

  17. Strawberry Shortcake Blend 2 cups strawberries, 1 cup crumbled pound cake, 1 1/2 cups each milk and ice, and sugar to taste. Top with whipped cream and more strawberries.

  18. My tried and true is mango peach. I use 1-2 fresh mangos peeled and cut into chunks, 1-2 peaches, pitted, peeled and cut into chunks, 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt 1 cup of milk and 1 banana. I mix in a small amount of frozen orange juice concentrate if I need a bit of acidity and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Will get ~ 4 servings out of this. Can freeze your fruit so cold when you blenderize, or make and put in fridge for 2-3 hours for best results.

  19. 1 Cup of Almond Milk
    1 Ripe banana
    1/2 cup of orange juice
    1 cup of strawberries
    1 Cup of Kale

Blend and add Chia and flax seed mix!

  20. Take half a banana, half a cup of blueberries, and a cup of almond milk and buzz it. If I have any vanilla left from my vacation, I add a splash. Yummy

  21. 1 banana
    1 cup mixed berries
    2 cups power greens
    1 cup almond milk
    dash of cinnamon
    1/2 avocado
    1 cup yogurt

  22. Spinach, beets, banana, strawberries, peanut butter powder, cacao powder, Vega chocolate protein, non-dairy milk, ice cubes.

  23. I have no special recipe… when I was training hard for work I would literally take anything and everything in the crispers, sitting out to ripen and in the pantry and try something new everyday. For the most part it usually worked out!

  24. My healthy smoothie recipe is
    1 cup skim milk
    1 banana
    1/2 cup strawberries
    2 tbsp peanut butter
    4 ice cubes
    1 tsp vanilla
