E3 2019 gaming contest

Finally after months of waiting, the event that our gaming customers have been waiting for is here: E3 week! Every year during E3 there are great announcements of new games, new features in games you love, and so much more. Check out our E3 hub for great deals from Best Buy, and great information from the show. Best Buy’s fantastic E3 2019 Gaming offers will be live as of June 7th.

Best Buy will be sending bloggers Jon Scarr and Mélanie Boutin-Chartier to Los Angeles to report on all of the announcements, and capture images and video from the press events (that begin on the weekend prior to the actual show) and from the showroom floor during the event from June 11 to 13th. Best Buy’s blog is where your favourite games get discussed

E3 is your source for the most gaming announcements every year

What gaming announcement are you most excited about this year? Perhaps it’s a new version of a game from your childhood. Alternatively, it may be a recently released game that was demoed at last year’s show. This may be the year when you discover something new that quickly becomes a new favourite. With the rapidly changing gaming landscape thanks to new streaming options you may have recently changed where and when you play games.

Perhaps you love a particular genre. Pretty much every genre will see something new announced this year. Whether you love adventure, survival, racing, sports or any other gaming category, expect lots of news to interest you during E3.

Entering this contest is really easy, but you can only enter once. In a comment beneath this article, tell us what gaming announcement has you most excited in 2019 and why. Include in your comment the manufacturer who made the announcement, the title of the gaming item, and why this announcement is so important to you. Is it a game, a console, or something else? Be specific and clear.

WHAT YOU CAN WIN

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select seven winners from all eligible entries. Each winner will randomly be assigned one of the seven prize packages.

This contest runs from May 30th to June 13th.

  1. I am excited for the Pokemon Sword and Shield announcement by Nintendo. I just got engaged to my girlfriend (now Fiance) and we both love pokemon. This will be the first mainline pokemon game that comes out since we started dating. I am excited to bond and grow closer together through it!

  2. Im very excited by the ps4 price cause all my friends have one and sekiro look very awesome! First of all the nintendo switch is my favorite console with super smash but it’s very expensive ! So if i win i’ll be very grateful

  4. This is tough to decide but I’m probably going to be most excited for the Nintendo Switch game announcements and about Fire Emblem: Three Houses by Koei Tecmo. My family has been a Nintendo family for as long as I can remember and I think we will be for a long time and Fire Emblem is one of the most fun strategy rpgs I’ve ever played and this game looks absolutely gorgeous.

  5. I really want to see what bathesda will come up with this year after the big 76 failure … i hope they learned that mis representig a product doesnt help it in any way … i hope nintedo will introduce a pro switch model though it seems unlikely

  6. I am super stoked for the Star Wars game Fallen Jedi. It’s made by Respawn and I can’t wait for a story driven Jedi game. I’ve played all the older titles but this one definitely has me super excited!

  7. Most excited for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield! The new starter Pokemon are adorable and I can’t wait for a long journey in the Pokemon world beside them. The switch is an amazing console and it’s amazing being able to play on the tv or on the go.

  10. I’m looking forward to Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers announcement. Marvel Games has proven that they know what they’re doing when it comes to developer partnerships and allowing an open creative process demonstrated with Spider-Man for PS4. We’ve reached a point where we can finally look forward to licensed IP games being awesome.

  11. Borderlands 3 is the game that has my excitement. After Sony PlayStation showed their reveal trailer for the game, I instantly felt the nostalgic days of the series. I reflect on the days I would come home from school only to sprint to my PlayStation, ponder the sound of its powering on, and radiate happiness when I loaded up any Borderlands game. My friends and I were ready, microphone on, controller in hand, party formed. This is the importance Borderlands presents. The game will be magnificent, no doubt, but traveling back in time to experience the nostalgic days of the past, inexpressible.

  12. Animal Crossing for the Switch, and also PKM Sword & Shield. But really, Animal Crossing for the Switch.

  13. I am most excited for Dragon Age 4 news. There has been a lot of mixed emotions about EA and Bioware leasing up to this so I am also nervous but I loved inquisition and I’m excited to see how they will continue the story!

  14. Sony’s State of Play unveiled new footage for the Final Fantasy VII remake, to much hype and fanfare. With more info expected in June, SquareEnix has a chance to really bring it at this years show. The remake, first announced back in 2013, sent shockwaves across the gaming community. One of gaming most iconic titles is poised to shake things up at E3 2019 and I’m more than excited to see what’s in store.

  16. I’m most interested in Nintendo Switch and Xbox gaming announcements in 2019 as they have my daughter’s favourite games.

  17. Gotta say, I am most excited for the new Star Wars game Fallen Jedi. It’s made by Respawn and I have waited what feels like an eternity for a new story driven Star Wars game! There have been a lot of Star Wars games and not all of them have been amazing. But no matter how terrible some have been. I still love playing them!   22. The most exciting 2019 release for me so far has been kingdom hearts 3. I played all the kingdom hearts games growing up and have been waiting for the new one for what seems like such a long time. Im also a really big Disney fan as we went down to Florida every march break to go to Disney world growing up. I’m not sure who the manufacturer is, if it would be Sony because its only for play station consoles or like the companies involved with developing the game like squaresoft.

  23. I’m glad they are remaking Link’s awakening. Great game. But I was very upset to hear that they had to start over on development for Metroid Prime 4. Been waiting YEARS for that!

  25. Im excited for the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019. I’ve been playing the call of duty serie since modern wafare on ps3 and now its a soft reboot of my first call of duty i played so im really anxious about what it will look like!!

  28. I’m looking forward to Boarderlands 3 on Xbox One and Mario Maker 2, Pokémon Sword + Shield, Legend of Zelda on Nintendo Switch. Maybe some other unannounced games.

  30. I’m most excited for Call of Duty Modern Warfare as I have not liked the newest call of duties and am glad they are going back to the great ones.

  31. I am most excited for Borderlands 3 from Gearbox!! I used to play nonstop with my buddies online and it was endless hours of fun and banter!
    This is so important to me because it was the first game I actually played for hours on end and the first one that I played over multiple times.

  34. Looking forward to The Last of Us Part II by Naughty Dog and SIE. Their blend of game-play and storytelling is top of the line. I am very, very excited to see where Joel and Ellie have ended up.

  35. I cant wait for Borderlands 3 by 2k and Gearbox. I have loved Borderlands since I was kid playing with my dad beating 1 and 2 together. Borderlands 3 looks like it could be game of the year already and everyone at gearbox seems to be putting their heart into the game I cant wait!

  36. What I am most excited for is the exposure of new consoles. We recently got a taste of a new PlayStation with much faster speeds as it was shown on a screen with Spider-Man and I’m extremely excited to see how Xbox/Microsoft respond to that. We’re really in for a good year of games for sure. Also Boneworks VR from Stress Level Zero has me completely flabbergasted with the physics, graphics, and pure creativity that they are putting into the game and I am so glad that the Node YouTube channel gave us a teaser gameplay of it!!!

  37. Excited for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 for PlayStation, currently have a PlayStation 3 but looking to upgrade.

  38. I have been a video game fan ever since my father showed me my first console game. I have always been a fan of retro/arcade games but consoles were a huge game changer for me. He showed me the simpson’s road rage on xbox when i was 6 years old and absolutely fell in love with consoles. Although my gaming has expanded to playstation, i am most likely looking forward to an announcement to the PS5 as i have only been able to afford a base ps4. I have always been a huge Sony fan because of its amazing exclusive titles that me and my dad can enjoy together as a family, it reunited us and gave us something to talk about and we finally have similar interests. This has come straight from the heart, thank you! Playstation really is for the players!!

  39. Really excited for Halo Infinite! It’s been almost 4 years since the last Halo game and this time 343 have redone the engine and the results in the trailer we saw last year are staggering. 343 will undoubtedly deliver one of the best Halo games we’ve ever seen.

  40. I’m excited to play the new call of duty modern warfare. I’m hoping it’s gonna bring back all the excitement and competition from its first couple releases. The trailers have high expectations for it being a good game and I’m more then ready to see what it’s gonna bring to the table.

  43. My husband was very excited about the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 on PS4 last year, and this year he’s looking forward to trying Spiderman, unfortunately he only has a PS3 so he hasn’t been able to try any of the new games.

  44. I’m stoked for Call if Duty Modern Warfare, I wanted a MW2 remaster, but this is the next best thing!

  45. I’m most excited for the Star Wars – Fallen Order game. As I age and slow down the RPG games are more my pace. It also has potential to have a great story!

  46. I am looking forward to the announcement of call of duty modern warfare by infinity ward. This video game is really important to me because I’ve played every call of duty in the franchise, and every modern warfare. It was the first shooter game I ever played, and I pre order every single one. There isn’t one call of duty I haven’t played yet. It’s also important to me because of how it brings my friends together. We would play hours among hours non stop. We would plan our schedule ahead, and what call of duty we are going to play. This is why this release announcement is so important to me.

  47. I am looking forward to Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’s Marvel’s Avengers. They hype a they created re: “The Avengers Project” has piqued my interest !

  48. I am most excited about the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This game has so much potential to be amazing and the trailer so far has looked great.

  49. Really looking forward to the upcoming Doom game from Bethesda (goes hand in hand with hoping for a Wolfenstein announcement too like the author says). Takes me back to my childhood where I had to sneak to play these violent games. Now I don’t have to anymore! #nostalgia

  50. I am most excited about the announcement of “More Characters and Skins revealed in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled!” announced by Activision. I can’t wait to get the game Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled the Nitros Oxide Edition for Nintendo Switch. My family has been waiting for a super challenge racing game because we are very competitive.
