Continuing on with my booth tours at E3 2015, Microsoft invited me to come meet the developers of Forza Motorsport 6 and Halo 5: Guardians to get an inside look at the latest developments of this game. Here are the highlights!

Forza Motorsport 6

The most impressive moment thus far of the whole has to be the moment when the gorgeous blue Ford GT car descended from the rafters of the Xbox E3 press conference, it was truly breathtaking! At Microsoft’s booth, they had the Ford GT on display, so I was able to get mere feet away from this powerhouse beauty. What a thrill!

My session with the game developers on Forza Motorsport 6 began with them explaining the basics of the game, including the ability to choose from over 240 of the world’s most prestigious cars from 80 different manufacturers. Not only is the Ford GT one of these, but it’s also going to be the cover car on the game’s box!

I was told that there are 26 circuits in the game total, with 10 of these being brand new to the series. The major gameplay addition in this edition is wet weather driving in the form of rain splashing down on your windshield and coating the speedway. Water will create slick road conditions and hydroplaning, making driving much more realistic (and dangerous) during times of heavy rain. You’ll need to take extra caution in order to avoid veering off course or crashing into the tire walls lining the speedway!

Halo 5: Guardians

Xbox E3 press conference - 4.jpgNext up was a guided tour of Halo 5: Guardians by the developers at 343 Industries. They showed us War Zone, the new 24-player online competitive mode that features massive maps (four times the size of the biggest Halo map in previous games!) as you wage war in epic battles against other human players and A.I. controlled enemies.

We also got a look at the two Spartan teams in the game. The first four-person team is called “Blue Team” and it’s led by Master Chief, and with him are three trusted, long-time Spartan soldier allies. The other, named “Fireteam Osiris” is led by Spartan Locke, and he’s joined by Vale, Buck, and Tanaka. Fans of Halo 3: ODST will recognize Buck as one of the ODST soldiers in the game, only now he’s become a full-fledged Spartan.

I sure walked away from both sessions mighty impressed, and best of all, they’re coming out this year! I can’t wait to play more!
