Premium TVs begin with outstanding new technology
I get this question quite frequently on the blog and on social media, “I want to buy a new TV; can you tell me which TV should I get?” My answer is to figure out your budget and space considerations for the room where it will be placed, then get the most future friendly TV with the largest screen that will fit in your home that you can afford. Future friendly means best technology available. And this year is a banner year for new technology in televisions.
I am planning on getting a new set for my home one day. I have a budget in mind and a TV size in mind (65 inch). I haven’t decided which brand to purchase yet because they are all so tempting! Each of the top manufactures has released new televisions with outstanding new technologies that make the colours more vibrant, details clearer, and the overall entertainment experience much better.
Do your research and plan for your next TV
Buying a television does require doing a bit of research. This contest will help you do that so you will know which future friendly Premium TV will be right for your home. There are three television prizes, one from each of the major TV manufacturers, Samsung, Sony, and LG, as shown here.
These are all premium prizes, so you must do a bit of work before you enter to win one of them. Since each of these brands provided a prize for this contest, you’ll be allowed to enter once per brand. Read the directions below carefully.
How to enter
Entering this contest is easy and you can enter once for each brand that provided a prize to this contest for a total of three unique entries: one entry about Sony, one about Samsung, and one about LG. For each entry, in a comment below, tell us
a) which new technology by that brand has you most excited about their Premium TVs this year. You can go to these articles for information about the new technology from each brand.
b) which model by that brand on the Best Buy website is your favourite (you must be precise: saying something like “any model” is not a valid response).

What I love most about the Samsung TV is the 120Hz refresh rate reduces motion blur and screen tearing while watching sports and fast paced activities! Sounds great! My husband would love this too!

a) The Nancell Technology amd A1 aligorithm to enhance the picture sounds like a great feature for someone like me that loves watching action movies.
b) While LG isn’t a TV I have considered buying in the past the reviews and write up on the LG Nanocell 75″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV ( all 5 star reviews!) is the one I would be most interested in.

a) The Quantum Dot Technology with 100% colour volume sounds perfect for the action movies I love to watch. I’ve had a big screen Samsung for 14 years now with no problems and think they are my favourite tv’s.

I am most excited about LG’s NanoCell technology and Dolby Vision IQ. Pure colour, for a great picture viewable from every angle. As well, the screen brightness, colour and contrast are intelligently adjusted for lighting conditions, great for my living room.

LG’s NanoCell technology is the most exciting for sure because of the innovation that provides this new tech and all the features that it provides to the televisions used with the tech. LG tv’s always have good reviews. I like the LG NanoCell 49″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV (49NANO85UNA) in particular because of the cinematic atmosphere and display it provides. It also has high quality audio so watching action movies with this type of sound would be awesome.
If you want a large screen tv, then this Samsung 65″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN65Q70TAFXZC) in black is the one for you. It is preloaded with apps like Apple TV and has Quantum Dot technology and provides crisp colour quality. It has 4K Ultra HD resolution which means watching shows and movies are amazing. Looks impressive.
I like the Sony 55″ 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR55X800H). It is compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa allows you to control your TV and other devices with voice commands. It is also a good size tv and fairs well with my budget.
The Samsung 8K Quantum Processor really sounds great to me. Anything that improves sound and picture quality is absolutely going to grab my attention as it’s so very important. As for my favourite, the Samsung 85″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN85Q60TAFXZC) – this really is my dream TV – love that epic size.
For the Sony’s, the Acoustic Multi-Audio is an improvement that really fascinates me. As for my favourite it’s got to be the Bravia 65″ 4K UHD HDR OLED Smart TV (XBR65A8H) – love love love the Bravia’s.
I’m Most excited for the LG’s NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility. As a devout gamer this is incredibly important to me.
As for my pick, bigger is best! I love the LG NanoCell 86″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV Smart TV (86NANO90UNA).
I have a 33 inch Samsung at the moment, but have macular degeration, and will need to get a larger screen in the near future, so again will choose a Samsung!

I used to have a small black and white Sony and it lasted forever till I needed to upgrade.
