You can find a huge selection of these televisions right now online at Bestbuy.ca. Also, read carefully below then enter this amazing contest: three Canadians will win an amazing Premium television!
Premium TVs begin with outstanding new technology
I get this question quite frequently on the blog and on social media, “I want to buy a new TV; can you tell me which TV should I get?” My answer is to figure out your budget and space considerations for the room where it will be placed, then get the most future friendly TV with the largest screen that will fit in your home that you can afford. Future friendly means best technology available. And this year is a banner year for new technology in televisions.
I am planning on getting a new set for my home one day. I have a budget in mind and a TV size in mind (65 inch). I haven’t decided which brand to purchase yet because they are all so tempting! Each of the top manufactures has released new televisions with outstanding new technologies that make the colours more vibrant, details clearer, and the overall entertainment experience much better.
Do your research and plan for your next TV
Buying a television does require doing a bit of research. This contest will help you do that so you will know which future friendly Premium TV will be right for your home. There are three television prizes, one from each of the major TV manufacturers, Samsung, Sony, and LG, as shown here.
These are all premium prizes, so you must do a bit of work before you enter to win one of them. Since each of these brands provided a prize for this contest, you’ll be allowed to enter once per brand. Read the directions below carefully.
How to enter
Entering this contest is easy and you can enter once for each brand that provided a prize to this contest for a total of three unique entries: one entry about Sony, one about Samsung, and one about LG. For each entry, in a comment below, tell us
a) which new technology by that brand has you most excited about their Premium TVs this year. You can go to these articles for information about the new technology from each brand.
b) which model by that brand on the Best Buy website is your favourite (you must be precise: saying something like “any model” is not a valid response).
What you can win
At the end of the contest, we will randomly select three winners from all eligible entries to receive one of the three televisions shown above.
This contest runs from June 1st to June 15th.
Remember you can enter once for each brand of television offered as a prize in this contest. However, you must know lots of people who would be thrilled for a chance to win one of these televisions. Share this contest with them and tell them to read the instructions carefully so each of their entries is valid and gives them a chance to win.

Samsung: Samsungs’ QLED technology has the best black levels and viewing angles for a LED backlit television. They also have the most nits available which makes HDR content really stand out and none of the burn in concerns of OLED technology.

My LG pick: LG CX 55″ OLED
LG: NanoCell tech is very interesting along with new HDMI 2.1 standards. 120Hz is a game changer
LG NanoCell 65″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV (65NANO86UNA)
My clear choice is Samsung. They have the best reviews in my opinion. I choose the My choice is the Samsung 75″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN75Q70TAFXZC) – Black. What I like about Samsung OLED Tv’s is Motion Rate 240 ensures fluid, nearly tear-free visuals that perfect for watching sports and action-packed movies.
I’ve never really thought about owning an LG TV, until I reviewed the brand and what is has to offer. LG Gallery is especially interesting to me; having my TV blend with the rest of my interior design would be pretty neat! The picture quality doesn’t seem lacking, either; the NanoCell technology used in some of the displays look like it results in an amazing visual. The LG NanoCell 65″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV seems to combine the best of everything (size, picture quality, and price), so is definitely a TV I would purchase for my home.
Sony TVs are catching my eye due to the TRILUMINOS Display; the idea of having a television with that much colour, while still keeping it looking natural, is very exciting. The Sony 65″ 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV looks to have excellent reviews, is priced fairly for the large size, and has the benefits of being a smart TV – these are the reasons this Sony is my favorite of the brand at this moment!
The 8K TV that Samsung is beginning to offer sounds amazing and is something I’m looking forward to seeing! I can’t even imagine a picture that’s 16 times better resolution than HD. The fact that the 8K Quantum Processor optimizes sound is also enticing! The Samsung 65″ 8K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV is my favorite model right now – it’s big and looks like it would deliver excellent quality.

The LG 65″ 4K UHD HDR OLED webOS Smart TV (OLED65C9PUA) would look super slick in our living room with its attractively slim design. The Dolby Atmos surround sound would also be amazing for our open concept home to be able to hear from our kitchen as well!

We would love to have the Sony 65″ 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR65X800H) in our new home and the ability to control it from our google home would be awesome!
Pretty open to all three brands, but I like how Sony has been a leader in the entertainment industry for quite some time. I like their 2020 65″ x950h model. When reading up on their Triluminous Display it really seems like produces great colours and a pretty stunning picture.
Martin, my man! Please hook me up with a new Sony TV! Been going back and forth on the Sony 950G or this year’s model – 950H. Settled on the 950H as the 65″ model has X-Wide Angle. This will be my first time entering the 4k market and we still watch a lot of sports on cable so I’m pretty excited for the X1 Ultimate Processor and its upscaling.
Sony x950h – 65″ is the model I’m looking for. X-Wide Angle would work out well given our seating arrangement. I’ve heard good things about the X1 Ultimate Processor as well. Fingers crossed!
Love the Sony 65″ x950h. We watch a lot of sports so the X-Motion Clarity will come in handy. Also curious to see how the Acoustic Multi Audio is.
Thanks for running the contest!

We have had Samsung TVs for years and I am very impressed with The Frame because it blends in with the rest of the room and I can have pictures on it rather than just black and I like that the brightness is adjusted based on what is happening in the room.
I would like The Frame in black, model QN65LS03TAFXZC.

LG’s NanoCell Technology sounds like it makes the picture and brightness on these tvs just the best. We’ll be able to see better colours even when there are several people watching at different angles.

LG’s NanoCell technology.
With the Sony Acoustic Surface Audio the sound will be generated from the action not from my side speaker.
Sony 65″ 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR65X950G)
With all the great TV features it is overwhelming – I really just need to live a Best Buy for a week to decide.
Samsung 8K Quantum Processor optimizes sound for each scene – which I hope means I am not having to turn up the volume for those scenes which are too quiet to hear only to be jolted out of my seat by scene change (unless jolting is by an appropriate dono etc). And the energy saving mode! My pick is the
Samsung 65″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN65Q80TAFXZC) – Titan Black. It is a nice size for the room I would put it in…and great picture quality.
LG: I would love to watch sports or voyage to where “no man has gone before” with the LG NanoCells. I love movies, sports and my family loves to game so this would meet all of our needs – and with optimal viewing from all angels this is the perfect pick! I am getting a little greedy with size here but the
LG NanoCell 75″ 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV Smart TV (75NANO90UNA) gets my adrenaline flowing. I would save money on event tickets by enjoying this TV at home…and I would not have to freeze at the Grey Cup!
