LG-curved-oled.jpg4K and OLED TVs sure are nice. In fact, eye-popping nice, the picture is so much better! If you haven’t seen them, then you should check it out. But they are also a bit higher cost, so how do you make sure you find the best value 4K or OLED set? After all, we all want the best value – especially for electronics that we will keep for a while.

In my picks of best value Ultra HD and OLED TVs, I am providing one for the OLED category and a couple in the 4K Ultra HD category, one for under 60” screens, and one for bigger than 60”. If you aren’t sure about the difference between OLED and 4K, then check out this prior post. Bottom line is that they both are a very noticeable step up in picture quality. They also tend to be bigger screens for a more immersive experience.

LG 55ec9300 OLED TV.jpgOLED Best Value – LG 3D Curved OLED Smart TV

The LG 55EC9300 has an incredibly clear and vibrant picture on an amazingly thin curved big screen. In addition to having a picture worth bragging about, it is a fully featured 3D Smart TV. LG’s WebOS smart platform is one of the best smart interfaces in the market, and watching 3D with the vibrancy and clarity of OLED is second to none.

Most OLED TVs are much pricier than the LG 55EC9300, but the ones in the same ballpark don’t tend to have as many features and attention to detail that this TV has. In addition to coming with significant motion and colour enhancement technologies, it has 9 different modes so you can get the right picture effect for whatever you are watching.

With lots of connections including multiple HDMI and USB ports, you can connect whatever you need to. It has wireless – WiFi and Bluetooth – so watching a variety of content is simplified even further. It also comes with LG’s magic remote, which is great for gaming not to mention controlling whatever you need to on the TV. This beauty is worth looking at, but be warned – you will want one.

LG 49UB8500 4K TV.jpg4K Ultra HD Best Value under 60” – LG 49” 3D IPS 4K Smart TV

I really like this LG Ultra HD TV because it is one of the few 4K TV’s under $2,000, yet you aren’t giving up much of anything compared to the higher priced models. It comes with a premium IPS screen that is more durable and clearer than normal 4K screens. It comes with multiple technologies to enhance the picture quality (as if 4K isn’t enough), and the 3D does up-conversion of any 2D content so you can watch anything in 3D.

It also is a Smart TV powered by WebOS, which is a great interface; and it comes with the LG magic remote, which is a simple but very effective way to control your TV and play games. This very attractive TV has a fantastic 4K image that is supported by other picture enhancing technologies on a premium IPS panel. This Ultra HD TV will impress you and your friends for many years to come!

LG 65UB9500.jpg4K Ultra HD Best Value over 60” – LG 65” 3D IPS 4K Smart TV

In the >60” category this LG 65UB9500 was a close call with the Samsung 65” Curved 4K Smart TV, but even though the LG is slightly more than the Samsung, it comes with an IPS panel, 3D, and double the refresh rate of the Samsung so I consider it better value. I also really like the LG WebOS Smart platform better than Samsung’s. 4K ultra high-definition is ideal for the really big screen TVs because the resolution is so good the larger image really pops and create an incredibly immersive experience.

The LG, like the other two above come with the magic remote, 3D, Smart WebOS, and dual play for gaming, so each player can play in full screen while only seeing their view of the game. It also does 2D to 3D up-conversion, and has multiple modes and connections. For the price, this 4K TV is great value and can provide a substantial upgrade to your viewing pleasure for many years to come.

All three of my best value picks are for 4K and OLED are LG panels. I honestly am not biased towards LG, but they just seem to have priced their higher-end sets much more reasonably without sacrificing features or quality. LG generally makes an excellent product and is a great choice for higher end 4K and OLED TVs for the money!

I love to try new technologies and I have a practical approach to techie stuff - it has to be easy to use and make my life better. I have my house fully wired, with a surround sound system in my family room for music and TV viewing, but also drive music throughout the house as well as outdoors. I Internet stream content on all my devices at home, which provides a huge variety of entertainment to enjoy.
