best buy fitness (2).jpgI always find buying new headphones kind of confusing, especially when I’m buying headphones for working out. Are they going to fall out as soon as I start running? Will they stop working as soon as it starts raining? Can I change the song track on both my iPod and Android device? Will people be able to hear me okay when I answer calls?

To answer these questions, I normally turn to customer reviews. It doesn’t matter what the description says, no one knows more about how the product really works better than the people using them. That’s why customer reviews are so important!

I have scoured through our sport headphone selection and plucked out the top 5 sport headphones based on customer reviews:

Sony In-Ear Sound Isolating Headphones (MDRAS800APB)

These water resistant headphones are tough enough to withstand any workout without compromising sound quality. The ear clips and multiple sizes of ear pieces will give you a comfortable fit that won’t fall out when running and the 6mm drivers in each ear piece will give you crisp, high quality sound. You can also change your track, volume and answer calls by using the in line control. This product received 7 ratings and 5 reviews, all of which gave it five stars – making them the #1 rated sports headphones on our website!

Bob from Ottawa, ON was on the fence about buying these headphones, but quickly realized he’d made the right decision:

“These headphones are amazing! Was doubting myself whether to get these or not, but in the end I got them. Great for running and working out at the gym. Their light and fit comfortably in your ears. As for the sound – great bass, highs and lows. You will not be disappointed. I’ve used many top quality headphones in the past, and for the price it is worth the buy.”

Monster ADIDAS In-Ear Sound Isolating Headphones

This past year, Monster and ADIDAS paired up to make a line of sports-specific headphones that will keep up with you as you move. The in-ear model has both antimicrobial ear pieces and patented SportClips to ensure the headphones stay in your ears throughout your workout. These headphones also have noise-cancelling capabilities to block out unnecessary sound and their flexible cord and design allows you to easily fold them up into their carrying case after your workout. I had the opportunity to try these headphones and the over-ear model this summer and I loved them! Check out my review here.

Mac from Toronto says these are the most durable earbuds he’s ever owned:

“I’ve gone through 5-6 pairs of mid-level earbuds over the past few years, and have not had a pair last more than 6 months. For the same price the Monster Adidas Sport ear buds have better construction than I’ve seen in ear buds that cost twice as much. The sound quality is solid for earbuds at this price the lows are tight and the highs are clear and glassy. The mic works well for calls, not noisy at all. All in all, if you’re rough on ear buds these are the best value I’ve seen, by a long shot. Buy ’em.”

Bose In-Ear Sport Headphones (SIE2i)

The SIE2i are sweat and weather resistant headphones packed with high-quality Bose sound technology. The earpieces will fit snug in your ears with the StayHear tips and the TriPort acoustic headphone technology will provide full, rich sound. In addition to the headphones, the SIE2i also comes with a Reebok armband, an extra cable to add length and a clip to secure the headphones to your clothing.

Jack Bernard from Windsor, ON claims these headphones are why he’s loyal to Bose:

“I just got them last week and love them. By far much superior sound and construction to the other brands I’ve been using for my runs. You can still hear ambient noise which is important, but the sound quality! Wow! They also come with 3 different sizes of ear pieces which should ensure proper fit for everyone. There’s a reason I continue to by Bose.”

JayBird BlueBuds X Wireless In-Ear Headphones (BBX1MB)

Wireless headphones are the latest trend in sports equipment. The JayBird Wireless headphones allow you to connect to your music device, placed anywhere on your body, via Bluetooth so you can remain free of excess cords and tangles while you work out. The Secure Fit ear cushions give ultimate comfort and can be worn either in or over the ears. The Liquipel sweat-repellant technology will protect them from sweat and water damage and the battery will give you 8 hours of play time and 250 hours of stand-by time.

Tim C from Calgary thinks these headphones are amazing:

“I use them for running and needed something that was sweatproof. The Bluebuds X are amazing. I’m surprised by the fidelity of these buds, the best dynamic range I’ve encountered and would rival many brands. They fit snugly once you find the right inserts.”

Yurbuds Inspire Women’s In-Ear Headphones

These headphones are great for anyone with a restrictive budget – not only do Yurbuds have great reviews, they are also under $50! These sweat and water resistant headphones are equipped with FlexSoft and TwistLock technologies that will keep the earbuds from falling out during vigorous workouts. These headphones specifically are designed for women as the earbuds are smaller than average, however Yurbuds also makes models with larger earbuds for men at the same price point.

Jason from Calgary, AB bought these headphones for his wife and they were a hit:

“I bought these for my wife after she complained that every other set of buds in the house did not fit her properly and were causing her aggravation during her runs by needing constant attention. Apparently these Yurbuds are wonderful, stay in her little ears, and lets her exercise without frustration. I don’t know how they sound (so I can’t give it top marks), but she is thrilled. And for the price, compared to other sport buds, is a real bonus.”

When choosing a new tech product, I always narrow down my options by checking out customer reviews. To help you choose your next sport headphones, I sifted through our headphones and customer reviews to narrow down the top 5 sport headphones based on reviews from consumers like you! These headphones are all designed to provide high-quality, rich sound while staying securely in your ears throughout your workout.
