DJI drones are versatile for photography and really fun to fly. Their newest model, the DJI Mavic Air 2, can film in 4K at 60 frames per second! That is seriously amazing. It can reach amazing heights, speeds, and distances, so it’s much more than a toy. However, when used responsibly it elevates your senses—you’ll feel like you’re a bird in the sky! Read more about the newest drone in the DJI family, then enter for a chance to win the demo model that we had reviewed on the blog.
What can you do with a drone
A drone is more than just a flying camera. It does fly; and it has a camera. But fly a drone and suddenly you realize this is a very unique experience. First there is the feeling of lift-off—you’ll never forget that surge of excitement. Remember you are in control, elevating, tilting, drifting to the left and right. There is a learning curve, but it’s not steep; quickly you adjust your perspective to react appropriately to capture the bird’s eye view of your surroundings. If you are able to use it near your home, you’ll will gain a new appreciation for the world around you. For me, rising about ten metres above my house allowed me to capture a view of several gulf islands including Saltspring and Pender.
DJI packs their drones with amazing features
With the new DJI Mavic Air 2, you will be able to do so much more than you might think from the moment you turn it on. It is so easy to use. We sent the prize for this contest to Shelly to test it out and she was amazed that she instantly was able to capture smooth, professional looking videos, right out of the box. Watch her video to see some of the images of her farm taken with the drone.
Shelly shows what’s included with the drone, how to assemble the drone, and offers some tips on how to fly it. She also speaks to many of the unique features that enable you to do some really interesting things with simple menu selections. I love the Helix Quickshot function!
The Mavic Air 2 has many features to help you get the most from flying it. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. This is very important; you will want to be sure about what areas near you allow drones and if there are maximum height restrictions too. You should read Shelly’s article for a more in-depth descripton of some of the key features that she tested. Be sure to return to this page to learn what you need to do to enter our contest.
How to enter
Entering this contest is easy and you can enter once below this article and once below the review article that Shelly wrote for this drone. In a comment, tell us which features in the Mavic Air 2 are you eager to try. Please do not repeat yourself; enter a unique feature in both places.

Win a DJI Mavic Air 2 Drone Contest Rules and Regulations
Good Luck.
Never had one thought it would be a great present for my twin grandchildren
I would love to try the dolly zoom feature and I would like to try the 4K video quality
I am firstly most interested in the video recording over such a long range (10 km). I am having some water issues on our lake property and this could help find the problem.
K, i think i enter here. I would love to try the hyperlapse 4k video and just to have a DJI would be amazing! If i mentioned that already, the amazing range is mind blowing and i would love to see if what i can create.
The battery life and 4K is amazing!! Also, great following ability which would be great to capture my dog running on trails.
I would love to try the 4k resolution and the finding of safe fly areas since my son would likely be using it more than anyone.
I’ve never flown a drone, but I did edit footage taken on a drone in high school. It was absolutely amazing! The drone shots brought the entire short film together, they set the scene and made the small high school project feel worthy of contest entries. It was one of the best projects I worked on and part of what made me fall in love with film. I would love to get back into film as a hobby and start editing again especially with the app based video editing features! This drone is perfect for me because I don’t have any experience using drones and I wouldn’t touch any other drone from fear of crashing it, but the obstacle avoidance is so reassuring on this one (as long as I don’t accidentally put it on Sport Mode lol). And the Canadian Drone Rules that are shown in app will make sure I don’t do anything illegal without knowing.
The quick shot feature will also be awesome to liven up my startup’s social media platforms (and my personal IG). I love the 4K video option which will make seeing Vancouver on my screen even more amazing. i spend a lot of time on trails and mountains and I’m sure seeing the trail from above will make the experience 10x better.
I think my favourite feature is the obstacle avoidance because then I won’t crash this beautiful tech. The feature I’m most eager to try is just the drone itself because I’ve never used one or known anyone who has one. It’ll be great sharing the footage with my friends and family (I’m sure everyone will be jealous!).
Thanks for the opportunity!
Im excited to make use of the 4K camera while making use of the stabilization to (hopefully) get shots of cars in motion.
id love to try out the 10km range! thats insane range for a drone! id us it for some cool scenery shots for music videos.
im definitely interested in the quality of the shots – 4K!
I want this drone because I like that is able to travel great distances so fast!!
I’m excited to try all it’s features! From no fly zones, the “autopilot” to keep it in place, the 4k imaging, and the great ranges to it! Thank you for the opportunity
4k @ 60!!!!
The auto-takeoff/landing will let my two daughters get into this without worrying that they’re going to do something wrong. The long flight time will allow me to check out creeks for gold-panning spots before I go bushwhacking through nettles, etc. Would be amazing!
The Camera
I would love to try out the auto landing feature!
I LOVE this drone!!!!! I am most interested in the 4K resolution as well as the voice prompt feature which looks very interesting!!!
I like that it helps you find safe spots to fly it.
I like the voice prompt that lets us know what the drone is doing and the auto-lock that allows us to lock onto a subject and follow it. It would be great for following the trains that my husband loves and for watching wildlife (discreetly).
I never flew a drone before, I want this to be my first drone.
Obstacle avoidance is huge. I’ve known too many people who have crashed their drones on day one 😉
I’m interested in the voice prompt feature.
I’ve been looking at lots of the DJI drones and have always wanted one. The only drone I have right know is my nephews from toys r us. I’ve watched lots of videos about it and really want to see how what the reaction time with the censors are and how good the active track is I also heard that it has auto landing and take off as well as a 4K HD camera. Sounds like an amazing drone. Good luck to all the other competitors.
I’m very interested at seeing the quality of the images and videos that the drone can take. Very cool!
I’m interested in testing out the omnidirectional obstacle sensing with Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems. Since I’ve never flown a drone before, it would make me less nervous about crashing into something.
It seems to have alot of features. Past experience flying drones, is the take off and landing. Looking at the video take off looks like a breeze!!
Hi. I am definitely interested in the voice prompt feature. What a cool thing!
Flying in low light is the cool feature. The drone is able to fly up to 16400 ft with wind-resistant up to 20 knots. You can fly in mountain region without any issue.
Oh my goodness this is a fantastic drone!! All the bells and whistles, but I guess the panoramic shot capability is the best and the like that is has a decent time for flying as well.
WOW, having a 48 MP Camera on a drone is insane, and 240 FPS will be really fricken cool. Taking this to the lake, or to the forest to watch amazing animals, is. going to be incredible. OcuSync 2.0 helping clear things up is amazing. And YES I will use FocusTrack for the first while to give me a chance to learn.
My Favorite features on the Mavic Air 2 that I am excited to try out, is the Panoramic Photo feature, and also the “34 MINUTE” flight time!!! This looks like an incredible machine the I would love to own and I will be saving up for one starting next paycheck. Have a great day and good luck to Everyone!!
Auto-Landing and Quick Shots for sure! I cannot wait to see what I will be able to capture.
So many cool features. I’m interested in the voice prompts and how it performs under my voice commands. Thanks for the chance.
I can hardly wait to try the image modes you can use including Quick Shots. Quick Shots let you capture the drone in various modes including Rocket, Circle, Boomerang, or Asteroid.
I’d like to try out the camera while hiking along the east cost
Automatic landing seems super cool! And obstacle avoidance too. I previously had the DJI Phantom 3 Standard and it crashed way too many times to count. RIP. Pretty scary experiences. Love the compact size too, will make traveling with the drone much easier (once we can travel again!)
Auto landing feature will be the one I would be eager to try. Getting these things back to ground is hard!
The auto landing…I crash landed on in the past. Not pretty. lol
I’d definitely try some pictures and videos from above with this new drone!
I would have to say the hyper-lapse in 8K!!!
One word RANGE, 5 000 meter and 10km transmission!! Yes please
Oh my my husband to be would absolutely love this. He is always taking some fascinating pictures with his camera. Just imagine what he can capture with this drone!
I have flown various types of model aircraft but never R/C mostly due to cost and lack of skill (okay, lack of skill). the DJI Mavic Air 2 takes the learning curve and reduces it too near zero allowing the operator to get on with things.
Landscape photography is a hobby of mine and the numerous features – height restrictions, built in no fly zones and return home would allow me to “do my thing” without worrying about these too much.
Lots of features. The auto take off and land wold be great for a novice
I think the size and it’s stow and go features make it incredible! That would be my favourite part! The 4K camera and other features are great too! But just the ability to take it anywhere with out braking you back or unloading your car makes it superior!
We just got some RC cars and we would be able to get some amazing footage if we won this!
I’m interested in the range that this drone has as well as the battery life.
This would be amazing to win , who doesnt want one hours of fun my hubby and sons would this this is awesome ive never tried alot of gadgets but this one I realky wanna try
I’d love to test the high end cameras capabilities on this bad boy!
