Facebook PortalIn these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever to keep in touch with your colleagues, friends, family, and loved ones—and Facebook Portal was designed just for that purpose. Like many of us, you’re probably spending the majority of your time at home right now. You might be juggling the kids, the cats, and the dogs while you’re trying to work from home, or perhaps you’re spending your days watching oodles of Netflix and playing the hottest Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One games. (Maybe all of the above?) Enter this contest and, if you win, you’ll be able to spend more time connecting with the people you work with or the people you love: the prize is three Facebook Portal devices.

Face-to-face communications always give you that extra something

Sure, you could send an email. But isn’t it nice to see someone’s face light up when you say hello? That’s backed up by science. One of the world’s foremost experts on human communication, Professor Albert Mehrabian’s famed “7-38-55 rule of personal communication” breaks human interactions down to a general ratio of 7% verbal, 38% tone of voice, and 55% body language. That means your facial expressions, gestures, and other movements can make up more than half of your message!

Facebook Portal keeps you in close contact with your colleagues

Perhaps you’re operating a small office, or you have a few major clients for your freelance gig. Sometimes a giant back-and-forth email thread isn’t the most efficient way to get things done. Whether you’re separated by a few streets—or more than a few time zones, you can stay in touch just like you would in a face-to-face meeting by using Facebook Portal. As long as they’ve got Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, they can link up for video calls, and you’ll be working like never before.

Facebook Portal is also great for keeping in touch with family and friends

Lots of people love Facebook Portal because they can make live video calls to friends and family, display their photos, and more. With more families and friends in different places around the globe, it’s more important than ever to stay in touch. So pop online just to say hi to your best friend, or read stories to your nieces, nephews, or grandchildren. And when you’re not using the device, Facebook Portal has a feature so it can double as a picture frame to display all your favourite Facebook and Instagram photos. How great is that?

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. First, read our reviews of Facebook Portal and Facebook Portal Mini, and our review of Facebook Portal TV. Then, in a comment on this article, tell us one feature you love about Facebook Portal and who you’ll be keeping in contact with the most.

What you can win

At the end of the contest, we’ll select one winner to receive a Portal bundle that includes one Facebook Portal, one Facebook Portal Mini, and one Facebook Portal TV. Keep one for yourself and send the others to the people you want or need to keep in contact with most.

This contest runs from March 31st to April 16th.

Remember, you can only enter once, but you probably know someone else who would love to see the smiling faces of their colleagues, family, and friends all the time. Let them know about this contest so they too have a chance to win—and make their day!

  1. I would use the video calling feature to stay in touch with family and friends. I really need it now.

  2. Trying to do old style calling is just not the same. I would love the video calling feature so I would see the Grandkids, our kids, our siblings and just everyone of our friends. It would be amazing.

  3. The Facebook Portal mini would be perfect for me to connect with my friends and family during this time when we’re apart 🙂 I miss them

  4. ACCESS to Amazon’s Alexa virtual assistant, who is always keen to obey your every command (ok, maybe not every command). Even so, Alexa gives you control over your other smart home devices, as well as access to the entire knowledge base of the Internet. You can get the news, check the weather, find out who won the hockey game, and much, much more—any time at all and right on your TV screen IS THE one feature I love MOST about Facebook Portal and MY SON IS THE ONE I WILL be keeping in contact with the most.

  5. I love the video calling. This would be awesome to talk to grandma and grandpa for the kids. Thanks for the chance

  6. I love the live video calling feature and would like to keep in constant contact with my parents.

  7. It would be very useful as a few of my family members live outside of Canada (Mainly Europe). It would be briilant to keep in contact with them through video calls.

  8. I think my favourite feature is the ability to make live video calls to your family and friends. Most of my family and friends who are abroad are all on Facebook – my friends in Australia and my friends and family in Italy. This would be fantastic for my mother who would love to see and hear from her siblings and other family.

  9. My favourite feature is the smart camera that could follow my toddler around the room when he facetimes with his grandparents.

  10. There are many great features available but the feature that I really like is that video calls are safely encrypted for an extra layer of privacy. It would allow for video chats with friends and family.

  11. Definitely great for video calling the distant parents so they can see their grandchildren growing up!

  12. Chatting with my family back home for sure. I love everything about this. This is the first I hear of any of this.

  13. The augmented reality feature for story telling is awesome! It will make bedtime so much more fun for the kiddos!

  14. I like the feature in the video call where the camera tracks you (to a certain extent) while you are moving and keeps you in the frame.
Also love that this supports WhatsApp calls as most of my family and friends are on WhatsApp compared to Facebook messenger

  15. The video call feature. Chance to catch up with friends and family around the world, especially now.

  16. The fact that it include a Smart Camera to follow you while you’re moving is really neat! I’m imagining using that feature while cooking!

  17. Video calling especially in this time of social distancing and I would call my Daughter , she is Expecting a child soon

  18. I love the video call option! What an awesome giveaway and I would love to win!

    Cheers and stay safe everyone.

  19. The video calling would be lovely to keep in touch with my mom as an iphone screen isn’t big enough to see her.

  20. I would use it to keep in contact with my family
That all live away, it would be lovely to be able to see them more often!

  21. I would use it for watching cooking tutorials while doing it myself in the kitchen and for our daily video calls with family all over the world.

  22. I love the smart camera feature of the portal TV. That way I don’t have to mess with it to get focus on where the people are 🙂

  23. The smart video component is excellent. My hubby is stuck overseas and our current setup is very lacking!

  24. I love the dual use of this device!! My mom and son are super close and we constantly IMO but it’s not always the easiest to do with such a tiny screen and with how busy my son is having one that will sit up so I don’t have to set phone down is awesome! And I love how when not in use you can use it as a digital picture frame which I love!! My little guy would adore seeing a slideshow of him & momma and rest of his family on the screen!
