Read on to learn about all 5 and to discover which one(s) most appeals to you and would best fit into your own smart home setup.

Philips Hue Ceiling and Wall Lights

Philips Hue Ascend Smart Wall Lamp

The first of the Philips Hue ceiling and wall lights that I’d like to discuss is the Philips Hue Ascend White/Colour Ambiance Smart Wall Lamp. This stylish and versatile wall lamp adds a bit of modern flair to any room it adorns and is perfect for most of the rooms in one’s home—from hallways and living areas, to bedrooms and dens.

The Philips Hue Ascend brings with it a warm glow of ambient light that’s brightening and inviting as it fills your home with a cozy and comforting ambience.

If you have a home office, it will illuminate your workspace and make it easier to see everything clearly and more comfortably.

And, as with all Philips Hue lights, you can easily control the Ascend lamp via your iOS or Android based smart device and the Philips Hue App. This makes anytime operation of your lights easy whether you’re at home or somewhere more remote (even half way around the world).

Simply connect the lamp to your existing wireless network via the Philips Hue Bridge, which must be purchased separately, and managing your Philips Hue lights will be a breeze.

You can even control your lights via a number of compatible smart home ecosystems such as Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit for added convenience. For instance, with Google Home and Alexa you can control your lights with simple voice commands. How amazing is that!!

Philips Hue Enchant Smart Suspension Pendant Light

Next up is the Philips Hue Enchant White/Colour Ambiance Smart Suspension Pendant Light. To save a bit of time and prevent repetition, I won’t bother to mention any more of the specs that are exactly the same for all of these Philips Hue ceiling and wall lights (i.e., app based control, requiring the Hue Bridge to work, etc.) and will instead try to focus on what is unique about each one.

For example, this particular model is a pendant style light, meaning it hangs down from the ceiling (usually in a row with others of the same type) to illuminate your home in a nice ambient glow.

If you’re looking to create a cozy atmosphere in your home, simply set the light to a soft, warm glow. When you want to be able to see better to complete a visual task (such as cooking in your kitchen or doing paperwork by hand), set the light to a cooler and brighter white glow to aid you in your work.

Of course, much of the appeal of a light like this is its simple, modern style. For instance, this type of light looks great in any modern kitchen, hanging as part of a row with 3 or 4 of its counterparts above an island countertop. Under such conditions, these lights are both visually pleasing and highly functional.

Philips Hue Adore Smart Ceiling Light

If you’d prefer a large, single, integrated ceiling light to brighten up your surroundings, might I suggest the Philips Hue Adore White Ambiance Integrated LED Smart Ceiling Light?

This light is perfect for places like your bathroom, where its soft glow contrasts nicely with its brighter, whiter light to fit the specific circumstances of your everyday needs.

For example, bright, white light is ideal when getting ready for work in the morning (putting on makeup, brushing teeth, etc.), while the soothing glow of its softer hues is great for relaxing at the end of the day or initially easing yourself into wakefulness at the beginning of your morning.

If you’re not intrigued or impressed by lights hanging down on long wires and prefer something instead that’s simple, straightforward, and always stays put, then the Philips Hue Adore might just be the light for you. To me, it just seems to have an air of reliability.

Philips Hue Being Smart Suspension Fixture

Yet another suspension unit is the Philips Hue Being Pendant White Ambiance LED Smart Suspension Fixture, and while this model is another hanging light (just as the Philips Hue Enchant, discussed above, is), this one is bigger, bolder, and doesn’t necessarily require a group of its friends by its side to really shine in your home.

In fact, I think that this light would be just perfect on its own in the centre of your living room, kitchen, or anywhere else that a large, single light fixture would fit in. It’s almost got a chandelier sort of look to it, so it really stands well on its own.

Of course, it does all of the same wonderful things that all of the other Philips Hue ceiling and wall lights can do, so it really just comes down to your own personal sense of style when deciding whether to go with this particular model or one of the other options.

Each of the lights discussed here today speaks in a very modern and elegant design language, so it’s all about deciding which one appeals to your own individual sense of taste, as well as which one(s) best meets the functional needs of your home.

Philips Hue Ascend Smart Suspension Pendant Light

Finally, there’s the Philips Hue Ascend White/Colour Ambiance Smart Suspension Pendant Light—another hanging light with its own distinct style, which, in a way, combines elements of the standard Ascend light and the Enchant light discussed above (the first 2 we looked at).

The reason I say this is because the head of this light is essentially the Ascend light (it even uses the same name), while the hanging, pendant part seems to come from the Enchant, although maybe somewhat shorter.

Functionally, I think that this light would be ideal if used similarly to the Enchant model—as in hanging over an island countertop in concert with 2 or 3 others of the same style.

Similarly, anywhere you’d like a direct shot of ambient light to help illuminate a workspace for any task or hobby would also be an ideal choice.

Either way, it mostly just comes down to a style preference between this model and the Enchant Suspension Pendant Light. And remember, in either case you’ve got over 16 million different lighting colour options to choose from, so the versatility of these Philips Hue ceiling and wall lights is truly limitless!

Well, that’s all for today’s discussion, but hopefully by now you’ve got a complete picture of just what Philips Hue smart lights have to offer. And remember, Philips Hue is smart lighting made easy!
