images.jpgMay is the month where warm weather, camping season, and life on the patio really kick off. Gardens can be planted, snow has gone away for the summer (I’m crossing my fingers for you prairie provinces), and flowers are everywhere. I can’t think of a single thing that’s wrong with the month of May, and to make things even better, there’s a ton of great new stuff on the shelves of Best Buy this month.

From brand new Rose Gold Macbooks to the latest camping gear, here’s what’s new at Best Buy for the month of May.

Yuneec Typhoon H Drone

I was lucky enough to test out a Yuneec Typhoon G Quadricopter recently and we had so much fun with it. I’d never tried a drone before, and it was really cool to see the footage from the GoPro.

Now Yuneec is releasing a brand new drone: the Yuneec Typhoon H hexa-copter drone. It’s available for pre-order right now, and it features a 4K camera, retractable landing gear, and front facing ultrasonic sensor to detect large objects in its path. You can see everything via a 7” screen, and you get 360-degree panoramic camera views.

Brand new Macbooks

I’ll admit it, when I saw that there was a Rose Gold Macbook coming soon, I swooned a little bit. My daughter reminded me that I just bought a new Macbook not long ago, but come on, it’s pink. I can’t imagine a more perfect Mother’s Day gift, and hey, it’s my birthday this month too.

Apple’s new MacBook is thin, light, and blazing fast. It has a 6th generation Intel M CPU with 8GB of RAM and a 12” Retina display. It has an on-board Intel graphics card, and I’m a huge fan of them. They work well for casual gaming and coupled with the processor, should give a speedy experience for editing movies and playing online. Plus, the new Macbook has a battery life of up to 10 hours and it comes in Rose Gold, Silver, Space Grey, and Gold.

Apple has also released a new Macbook Air. With a 13.3” LED-backlit widescreen display, 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, and 8GB of RAM, this is computer that weighs practically nothing but has power to spare. It has an astounding battery life of 12 hours, so you can put it in your bag, take it everywhere, and it will be ready to use when you are.

Samsung 9000 series 4K television

I know some people think you need to wait until fall to buy a new TV, but I’m not one of those people who swear off TV for the summer. I love watching old movies or sitcoms on warm summer nights after a long day outside with the kids. It’s a great way to relax.

That might be why I’ve been campaigning for a 4K TV, and the new Samsung KS9500 4K SUHD TV looks pretty appealing. It’s 65” so you’ll have a huge screen to watch, and 4K has four times the resolution of full HD. Whatever you put on, from 4K Youtube videos to 4K videos, will be smooth, life like and razor-sharp. And it’s got four HDMI ports to plug in every device you own.

Enjoy the great outdoors

Who’s excited for camping season? I know a few people who did their first trip out just this past weekend and they had a great time.

Camping season means setting yourself up for comfort outdoors, and there’s a lot of great new and very cool camping gear available on Best Buy right now.

Take the Apex double arm chair for example: last year I looked high and low for something similar, so imagine my surprise when this one popped up today. I love how it’s a double seat, and it folds down just like other camp chairs.

I know I can’t be the only person who has wanted a swing like this CorLiving patio swing. Imagine rocking away sunny summer days and warm nights with a book or your tablet. The backrest on this patio swing folds down into a day bed so you can take a nap, and it has 3” foam cushions so it’s extra comfy.

Although you’re camping, you shouldn’t have to leave your tech at home. I love the Secur Bluetooth lantern. It’s a 3-in-1 device that’s a flashlight, lantern, and Bluetooth speaker. You’ll be able to use it see on those dark nights, and it will stream music for up to 8 hours.

The latest in kitchen gadgets

I’m a huge fan of home appliances. I get a kick out of finding a new small appliance that makes my life easier, and love anything that is a time saver and make cooking fun.

Waffles are huge right now, and there aren’t just for breakfast anymore. From waffle sandwiches to chicken and waffles, you create whatever you’re craving with a floating waffle maker. It makes waffles in two minutes or less, and they are the perfect size and shape for sandwiches or to top with fruit.

Speaking of making life easier, KitchenAid has come out with a multicooker that’s got a design you have to see. I love the sleek retro style of the panel, and it can whip up everything from breakfast to soup or roast chicken in a hurry. It has 10 cooking methods available at the touch of a button and can heat up to 450 degrees.

Vitamix blenders are new to Best Buy and they’re online right now. I did a review of two Vitamix blenders just this past week, and I found them simple to use and extremely powerful. I made Nutella in the Vitamix Professional 300 Ruby and it blasted through the hazelnuts in no time at all. Check out my full review and comparison of both Vitamix.

With everything hitting the shelves at Best Buy, May is shaping up to be a great month. May is also known as a month full of meme, so let me share my favourite with you so we can really give May a proper welcome.

Enjoy spring!
