THE massively successful fighting game of most any generation it has existed in, Street Fighter’s current iteration, Street Fighter IV sparked a resurgence in fighting genre interest, unlike anything since the Mortal Kombat guys first started ripping off bits and pieces of one another. Constantly tested and pushed by its community, updates have long been a part of Street Fighter. Ultra this, Arcade Edition that, is it worth it?  In a word, yes.  In two, Oh heck yes. Ultra Street Fighter IV ladies and gentleman, lets fight.

I’ve never been a fan of defensive football in the Madden series.  It seems so often, I’d just be doing the same thing over and over again. Madden 15 changes the way we’ve played defense, both by vantage point and strategy. This is just one of the many big changes in this year’s edition of the Madden series. Unfairly overlooked, the Metro series is a gripping, gritty, dark and brutal tale of surviving a hostile environment, in an unlikely place, and against all odds.  When things as simple as air and light are consumable resources that your life depends on, a certain amount of tension becomes a constant companion.  Monsters and badguys abount, darkness lay in all directions and safety is as precious and rare as gold.  Interested?  Well, if you like shooters, if you like a bit of horror, and especially if you like post apocalyptic wastelands, you should be.  Its Metro: Redux, re-packaging the two installments of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, a whole gang of improvements, and giving a healthy help up in the graphics department.

Sacred 3 spins itself into a completely different style of game

After a long wait, Sacred series fans can rejoice: Sacred 3 is here, and it’s the same Action RPG you enjoyed previously! No wait, it’s anything but!  Sacred 3 is now a hack and slash game drawing inspiration to the Gauntlets and Golden Axes of the world!  It’s now become a multiplayer teamwork-heavy dungeon crawl free-for-all and is nothing like you got used to in years previous.  Sometimes change is good though right?  Check it out.

We all have memories of the first video games, and first systems we played.  Where did you begin?  The Evolution of Gaming exhibit at the Centre for Digital Media in Vancouver rehashed many of those old memories, flashing us back to times before some of us were even born, and then into some crucial eras of gaming, like the crash of 1983, and the explosion of the NES in North America.  Then, they flashed us forward and gave us a sneak peek at how gaming might look in just a few short months and years.  Click below to read more and find out just how much things have evolved over the past couple decades.
