 This week, Melanie and I took advantage of our time at E3 to stop by the booths of companies offering cutting-edge devices for gamers. These include Alienware, Thrustmaster and Emtec to discover their new GEM Box, a tiny Android box that lets you stream and download a wide range of video games.

E3 2016: Hands-on with Agents of Mayhem

 On the final day of E3 2016, Deep Silver and Volition invited me in for a one-hour private session with their brand new action-adventure IP, Agents of Mayhem. This amazing opportunity include a nearly 40-minute hands-on session where I got introduced to the game’s zany cast of characters and experience first-hand the explosive gameplay. Come take a look!

E3 2016: Paper Mario Color Splash first impressions

 During E3, Nintendo gave Melanie and I the extremely rare privilege of meeting Risa Tabata, the producer of Paper Mario: Color Splash, who flew in all the way from Japan for E3. Apparently we were the only media in Canada to get this opportunity (wow!) and while we thought this was most likely a straight interview, it turned out to be much, much more.

 At E3 2016, Xbox held an “International Media event” that gave us access to their entire show floor games line-up for about two hours. With short lines, I managed to play four games: Dead Rising 4, Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 3, and ReCore. Here my impressions of each!

 At E3 2016, I had a chance to play the first 15 minutes of Nintendo’s upcoming adventure game The Legend of Zelda: The Wild Breath, and it was even more epic than I had imagined. A sprawling open world, the most gorgeous graphics I’ve ever seen for a Wii U, and fascinating new gameplay are only the beginning. This is Zelda like we’ve never seen before, yet at the same time stays true to this beloved franchise. Here are my early impressions of this 2017 title:

 Every year at E3, Electronic Arts is known unveiling their latest line-up of sports games, and this year was no exception. As part of the EA Play, I spent roughly 30 minutes with two of their upcoming sports titles–FIFA 17 and NHL 17. Here are my impressions after playing.

 The very first game I played at E3 2016 was Electronic Art and Respawn Entertainment’s highly anticipated Titanfall 2, and what an incredible impression it made. Everything you love from the first game–it’s fast, fluid action, powered-up mechs, and momentum-based gameplay–are back and better than ever in Titanfall 2.

 Ubisoft just turned 30 years old, and to mark this huge milestone the company celebrated E3 with new game announcements and some great celebrity guest appearances. Let’s take a look at what the they had to show!

 Following Sony’s PlayStation E3 press conference, attendees were invited to a second event where we were able to get hands-on time with their upcoming PlayStation VR. I got the opportunity to check out The Getaway: London Heist and walked away impressed enough to believe that VR is indeed the gaming future we’ve all been dreaming about. I wasn’t just playing the game, I was in the game.

 Sony delivered one of their best press conferences in years at E3 2016, saying very few words and letting their games line-up speak for themselves. Not only did we get incredible new footage for games like Detroit: Become Human and Horizon: Zero Dawn, but Sony also excited us all with massive new game announcements including Spider-Man, God of War, Days Gone, and Death Stranding.
