IFA 2014 was the location for yet more high tech announcements as Sony got in the game. Among the new products from Sony are the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact (billed as the world’s slimmest and lightest compact tablet), new smartphones led by the new Xperia Z3 flagship, a new Android Wear-powered Smartwatch 3 and the SmartBand Talk fitness tracker.

  VIZIO has been one of the top 3 TV and Home Theatre brands in the US since 2007. They are currently #2 overall in the US and #1 in Smart TVs and in Soundbars. VIZIO have been known for aggressively pricing their TVs while not sacrificing quality or innovation, so it is nice to see that they are now showing up in Canada. 

I think the title about sums it up really.  A third person action title; team up in groups of four to take down monstrous robots. One of the years many PS Vita titles, Freedom Wars was released to great success in Japan, though, they do like fighting giant robots over there… then again, so do we! Play as a character held prisoner for the crime of ‘being alive’, work off your debt destroying robo-menaces, save innocent lives, and don’t forget… let’s have fun out there people.

A game with a very appropriate name, in two words Project CARS (Community Assisted Racing Simulator) is a project in crowd funding a racing platform that will probably be THE game for the Racing SIM enthusiast.  Boasting more tracks than its competition, and a beefy car roster, Project CARS is an ‘open’ driving experience unlocking everything from the word go (or should I have said ‘drop of the flag’?) allowing racers to choose when, where, and what their racing experience will be, across Career paths, Solo stuff, multiple Motorsports, Online, and Community, this is one garage with a lot of stuff in it.

I’ve never been a fan of defensive football in the Madden series.  It seems so often, I’d just be doing the same thing over and over again. Madden 15 changes the way we’ve played defense, both by vantage point and strategy. This is just one of the many big changes in this year’s edition of the Madden series. If there’s one thing better than sitting on the beach, it’s sitting on the beach with a good book. An e-book, preferably. How many new ways can you find to reinvent the wheel of video game gameplay?  We’ve got to be running out of ideas and ways at this point, but Sony came along at Gamescom with something in hand that’s never been tried before.
