If having sparkling clean floors is important to you, I don’t think there’s an easier way to achieve that than with a Tineco wet/dry vacuum. What’s in the box?
In the box of the Tineco Floor One S5, you’ll find the vacuum body with its handle boxed separately. It clicks into place easily and securely, much like the other parts of this Tineco vacuum. The vacuum body comes with a 0.7 litre removable dirty water tank and a 0.8 litre clean water tank, both of which remove with a wide, soft-touch release bar.
This vacuum comes with two brush rolls and two filters so that you can rinse and dry them fully after every use, plus a holder for each that slides into place on either side of the S5’s charging base (which also protects your floors from any water residue after you use this vacuum). It also comes with a charging cord, a cleaning tool, and one bottle of Tineco’s fast-drying, sud-free multi-surface cleaning solution.
What can the Tineco Floor One S5 do?
I’ve reviewed a Tineco wet/dry vacuum before, and I loved it. This updated model looks and feels very similar—but comes with a few notable changes.
The Tineco Floor One S5 Cordless Wet/Dry Upright Vacuum’s coolest feature is the brand’s new iLoop Smart Sensor Technology. iLoop uses debris detection and a full-colour LED display to detect wet and dry dirt and other materials. It adjusts roller speed, suction power, and water flow to best suit the material underneath your vacuum at any given time, and shows you on its LED display when you’ve hit a particularly dirty spot (the ring around the display will run red) vs. when you’ve cleaned it thoroughly (the ring around the display will turn blue).
To really simplify its description, the Tineco Floor One S5 will simply clean both wet and dry debris off of your floors. Its cordless operation and smooth joints make this vacuum easy to navigate around your home, and its battery lasts for up to 35 minutes. The S5 has enhanced edge cleaning, and Tineco wet/dry vacuums deliver shiny, dry, streak-free floors very reliably thanks to the brand’s excellent cleaning solution.
Unlike the last Tineco vacuum I tried, this is a smart home-friendly model with app support and iLoop smart sensor technology. It operates at a rather serene 78dB, and has manual buttons for power, mode switching (AUTO or MAX), self-cleaning, and Wi-Fi connection/volume muting.
What’s on the Tineco Floor One S5 screen?
The Floor One S5’s screen’s primary feature is to showcase its iLoop technology so that you can get the best clean possible. However, it also displays other information.
When you’re connecting your Floor One to your Wi-Fi for the first time (to use the brand’s Tineco Life app support), this screen is where you’ll see the vacuum’s Wi-Fi status. It’s also where you can view your vacuuming intensity, battery percentage, and self-cleaning status. You can look to this display while vacuuming to check on the status of your dirty water tank, clean water tank, and brush roller.
The app features of the Tineco Floor One S5
Despite the fact that the Tineco Floor One S5 is an excellent wet/dry vacuum, the thing that I loved most about it wasn’t its efficacy. Instead, I loved its principles.
I’m far from a luddite, but I believe in good design. And, for things like appliances and home cleaning tools, I think that good design sometimes means less app reliance. If, for instance, I want to vacuum my floors but I can’t find my smartphone, that shouldn’t slow me down—and it definitely shouldn’t prevent me from vacuuming them altogether.
In my opinion, Tineco executes the perfect blend of in-app and on-body control with the Floor One S5. You can use the full functions of this vacuum without ever needing to install the brand’s Tineco Life app on your smartphone. However, if you do choose (and choose is a really important word here—I think that app support should definitely be a choice) to do so, you’ll get even more out of the vacuum through the app.
The Tineco app gives you feedback on the status of your water tanks and brush roll, with helpful videos on cleaning, changing, and troubleshooting so that you can get the most out of your device for as long as possible. It also lets you change the volume level of your vacuum, toggle silent mode on and off, change the language of the voice assistant, and name your vacuum. I went with Elliott for the S5; I’m on a kick right now where I’ve been naming all of my smart vacuums after English boys, and I’m really enjoying it.
Like a quirky new name, the app support on this vacuum just enhances the experience with it. It isn’t obligatory, and I’m extremely impressed by and grateful for that.
My experience with this Tineco Cordless Wet/Dry Upright Vacuum
I loved using this Tineco Cordless Wet/Dry Upright Vacuum. From its excellent design to its handy screen and app accompaniment, I think that it was excellently put together and beautifully manufactured.
My favourite two things about Tineco vacuum bodies are their efficacy and their ease of use. Like the other Tineco vacuum I’ve reviewed on this blog, the S5 gets my floors sparkling clean in just one pass—three if something is really caked on down there. (It’s usually cat food.) This upright vacuum cleaned and mopped my floors more effectively than any manual or robotic vacuum or mop I’ve ever used, and the finish that it leaves you with is just perfect.
With the Tineco Floor One S5, my floors dry quickly to shiny, streak-free, luxurious perfection. They feel great under my feet almost immediately afterwards, with no stickiness and no “floor cleaner” smell. (Tineco’s sudsless cleaning solution does have a deodorizing fragrance, but unlike other floor cleaning solutions I’ve tried, it doesn’t fill my home. Once it does its business, you’d never know it was there.)
On top of all that, these vacuums are incredibly easy to use. This vacuum’s motorized brush roll makes it feel lightweight even with a full water canister, and it’s easy to navigate with a tilt of its ergonomic handle. The S5’s cordless design and 35 minute battery life are awesome, and everything about it just feels really seamless. It’s easy to position correctly in its charging base; it’s easy to fill and clean (no wrestling with any releases); and it gets right up into corners and edges.
What can you clean with a wet/dry vacuum?
To finish off, I thought I’d talk about a few things that are easy to clean up with a wet/dry vacuum (and a few that aren’t). While this vacuum won’t deep-clean your carpets or get pet hair out of your drapes, there are plenty of things for which it’s absolutely perfect.
I live with what I like to joke is the world’s messiest cat. Fern’s litter mannerisms include flinging clay bits as far as possible from the bin (the farthest I’ve seen her fling litter is a little over two and a half metres, using her litter liner bag as a slingshot). Her eating habits involve picking up her piece of raw food out of her bowl or plate, then turning slightly to drop it on the floor before eating it. (I think this is a holdover from her time as a tiny kitten in a hoarding house, before she was picked up by a shelter. It’s inconvenient… But also heartbreaking!)
Both of these messes are difficult to clean up with just a vacuum or just a mop. The litter can leave a film behind that a vacuum can’t pick up, and her food bits are sometimes too large to be scrubbed up by a mop but too wet to be picked up by a vacuum. But this Tineco vacuum cleans both up like a charm. It scrubs each surface clean, usually in just a single pass, and helps enormously with both the general level of mess on my floors and with my allergies.
It’s perfect for deep-cleaning litter messes, potty training messes, and the areas around pet food bowls. If your family spills cereal and milk, or your kid is learning how to bake, this is absolutely the vacuum for you.

I like the wet and dry cleaning feature the most because of cleaning wet spills on the floor and dry crumbs on the floor.
I love that it has an LED display that shows you when you’ve hit a particularly dirty spot! That would alert me to spend extra time on that area.
The best thing about this vacuums besides the obvious convenience of a combo vacuum/mop would have to be the dual water chambers for the clean and dirty water. I foster dogs who make messes. So to be able to know when I mop, it’s not spreading around dirty water is great.
This would be great for those accidents like spilt milk and cereal, I love that it is self cleaning!

We are researching a new vacuum. We have pets and are almost cleaning daily and have multiple floor surfaces. This product has a lot of the features we are looking for.
My favorite feature is that the Tineco app gives you feedback on the status of your water tanks and brush roll so you don’t have to think too much about it.
It adjusts roller speed, suction power, and water flow to best suit the material underneath your vacuum at any given time. This is my favorite feature, I have carpet and laminate so the versatility if offers for both is great.

The experience that excites me the most is that you can adjust the roller speed and the suction.
The wet/dry feature, being able to clean multiple floor surfaces with one machine and the adjustable suction are the most exciting because it saves you so much time and it can get all the dirt without having to go over the same area more times.
The iLoop sensor excites me most. It’s great to see advanced tech in these cordless vacuums and definitely makes me want to upgrade.
